Mid-Michigan K9 Academy - Saginaw

Thank you, Mid-Michigan K9 Academy, Jim, Michelle, Emilio, Kiana and the rest of the crew for your time working with our 3-year-old Keeshond, Yeti. We took Yeti to MMK9A for the seven-day board and train. What a difference a week can make, truly! I was so concerned about leaving Yeti there because we’ve had him since he was 10 weeks old, and he had never been crated and had never been away from us (even for one night). I spoke with Jim several times prior to dropping Yeti off. Jim always answered my calls, texts and was very attentive and made me feel comfortable taking Yeti there. Some background on Yeti and why we took him to MMK9A……Yeti is a very sweet and loving dog with so much personality. He is wonderful at home with my husband and myself. Our/his issues were having strangers, friends, or family at the house. He would be pulling on his leash uncontrollably and barking. He intimidated everyone that came into his view. He was alright if he was off his leash but that’s not possible all the time. He knew his basic commands: sit, stay, down, leave it and release; come (when he wanted to, if nothing else had his attention). Yeti had been to two previous obedience trainers prior to this, and nothing worked. We picked Yeti up from MMK9A and took him into two pet friendly stores on our way home; something we NEVER did or would have ever dreamed of doing. He was amazing! He didn’t act like an uncontrollable lunatic. He walked, no barking, no pulling, acted like other dogs I would see walking normally beside their human. It’s been a week now since he left MMK9A, and he is still doing great. We work with him daily on the commands he already knew but also his “come home” and his “place”. We make sure to take him into as many pet-friendly stores as we can. He’s doing so good and improves daily.

We took our 1 year old Shepard mix pup here for the 7 day training and I’ve never been more impressed with his growth and overall improvement in behavior! Jim and his team provided everything our pup needed and treated him as their own. The daily video montages they sent us were wonderful to see his growth and very helpful for us to continue implementing what he learned in our home. If your pup is in need of any type of training, take them here! I cannot recommend Mid-Michigan K9 Academy enough! :)

We brought our 10 month old mixed breed rescue to Jim. Jim and all of his team were all so great! Our dog was great at our home, but was very fearful of anyone outside of our home, causing some aggression issues. After going through the 7 day training, he is doing great with his confidence and is less timid around people. Not only did that improve, but he now listens to commands, walks great on a leash and does not seem so crazy with our small kids. I would highly recommend going there if you have some of these issues. I was nervous at first because it was a week away from him, but they send daily updates , videos and photos on how your dog is doing, which puts you at ease. Great experience!!
