Mid-Michigan K9 Academy - Saginaw

We signed Lola, our rescued pit, up for the 7 day doggy boot camp at Mid Michigan K9 Academy and it was everything we hoped it would be! Before she went she was highly reactive to other dogs so taking her places or even for a walk could end up being very stressful for us. She knew some basic commands when she went but to her it was always a suggestion and not an expectation. She was running our household and it was not fun. When we picked her up on her last day of training she showed us that they gave her the tools to be the best dog possible and now we continue to work with the foundation they provided her with. We can walk her and sit outside with her without her acting bonkers when she sees another dog. She is also much more calm in our house, if she starts to get amped up during playtime we are able to get her to calm it down. Mid Michigan K9 Academy trainers sent me updates and videos every day so that I could see her daily progress, and they always answered any questions I had along the way. They really are a top notch facility and we recommend them for your family. They have given us peace back in our home, I wish we would have done it sooner!!

I had taken Odin for the week long training he was 7 months old and was not handling being away from us and the caring staff called and had us pick him up instead of pushing thru the training they truly care for the dogs and I look forward to taking him back in July for complete his training! Though he was only there 2 days we did see improvements in his walking and behavior. I will put an update on the training once he has completed it! So far I would highly recommend.

I am so happy with Sasha’s progress from the 7 Day Bootcamp program! Sasha was very sweet and playful, but was also very sassy, diving on us, biting, not listening to most commands, pulling on the leash, and generally just obnoxious. I was completely shocked by the transformed dog I picked up!! She is no longer pulling on the leash, sits calmly while I talk to neighbors on our walks, stays calm when other dogs approach, and is listening to our commands almost perfectly! I am so proud of her and so thankful for Mid-Michigan K9 Academy! Sasha worked best with Allison (huskies are very stubborn), and we also loved working with her when we picked Sasha up. We really enjoyed and appreciated the daily videos from Jim, as well as our introduction to the program with him when we dropped Sasha off. He truly has a wonderful program going and I think his prices are very reasonable. I also enjoyed his follow up training videos, reviewing the commands and everything the dogs learn to help remind myself what the commands and signals are. I cannot say enough about this program and will definitely be recommending to anyone with training issues. This program has truly transformed our dog and our lives in general. We are all happier now that Sasha knows how to behave, but she is still silly, happy, and playful when the the time is appropriate. We brought both of our dogs (irish wolfhound and a shepherd/husky/pitt mix) to MMK9 for their 7-day board & train program. I'm so happy with the great work by the MMK9 team. Each dog had different goals, and their trainers were able to all their needs individually. We were especially concerned with our mix breed dog who was anxious and reactive towards other dogs. Before MMK9, I couldn't walk him by myself in the neighborhood or take him anywhere. I struggled with at-home training because I couldn't get him under control enough to work on the basic skills for reactivity. With their great program, our dog came back completely changed. I'm able to take him on walks around the neighborhood the first time in years. He's happy and relaxed - and so am I! They even worked with both dogs so we can walk them together. Plus, they've given me the jump start I needed to continue this training at home. I would definitely recommend their services.
