Mill Pond Kennels

WOW! What a great training experience for my dogs! I enrolled two of my pups for obedience training (6 weeks board-and-train). My dogs were not bad, just needed some refinement. The 6 week program is a must to ensure training and commands are engrained and become second nature to the dogs everyday life. My dogs now listen! When times get a little rowdy, "place" is an excellent command to deescalate any situation. Walks are so enjoyable now that they know "heel" and "sit", they even do it automatically most of the time. The girls now even sit and stay in a calm position to have their collars and leashes put on instead of playing chase around the house due to all their excitement. Their training is a daily requirement even after the 6 weeks, however the wonderful staff prepared us with the tools to continue training good behaviors and build upon what they were trained on in boarding. The best part was the girls came home so happy and it was obvious during the handlers course the girls absolutely loved their trainers. I noticed the staff recognized the unique personalities of each of my dogs and used that to provide the best training and reinforcement for each of them. I can't say enough great things about Mill Pond Kennels. Because they know my dogs so well now and my girls are comfortable with them and their environment I will continue to use them for my training and boarding needs.

Our wire-haired pointing Griffon was a sweet boi, but we just didn’t have the hours in the day to properly train him ourselves. He is super active and has tons of energy, but he lacked discipline. After about 35 days with the trainers, Otis is a changed pup! He is well-trained, super disciplined, and a true joy to have in our home. He is still the same happy-go-lucky dog as always, yet he he no longer jumps/gnaws in excitement, acts out due to inactivity, or misbehaves because we haven’t had time to devote to proper training. Instead of behaving like Otis Driftwood, he’s now a bit more Otis Redding…
