At MLK9 Dog Training, we start by teaching parents how to communicate with their pets using clear commands and rewarding good behavior. Our training methods are based on the science of learning theory and modern, humane dog training techniques. We use positive reinforcement as our primary method of increasing your dog's motivation to learn and to behave in a way that you like better than before. We also use "reward-based punishment," which means that if your dog does something wrong that you don't want him to do, you don't punish him , instead, you simply remove the reward for a short period until he learns not to do it anymore. Andy did a phenomenal job with her and was able to train these things out of her. The weekly videos were great to see the progress and the methodology behind the training. The in-depth detail that he goes over with the e-collar is super helpful. If you’re thinking about sending your dog for training, Andy is your man!

I was having dog reactivity issues with my Finnie boy that was becoming increasingly difficult to navigate on my own. Andy was so kind and helpful with my dog! Day two of being home from a board and train with MLK9 a giant German Shepherd on a retractable leash was hiding in the bushes and came after my dog. Normally this situation would’ve been extremely stressful! My dog was able to just continue on his walk without any reaction at all! I don’t think he even barked. MLK9 has given us the training for both my dog and I as well as the resources needed for us to have a lot more freedom without the fear of my dogs reactivity driving where we can/can’t go now! Andy helped instill confidence in my dog and confidence in me to navigate those tricky situations!
