At MLK9 Dog Training, we start by teaching parents how to communicate with their pets using clear commands and rewarding good behavior. Our training methods are based on the science of learning theory and modern, humane dog training techniques. We use positive reinforcement as our primary method of increasing your dog's motivation to learn and to behave in a way that you like better than before. We also use "reward-based punishment," which means that if your dog does something wrong that you don't want him to do, you don't punish him , instead, you simply remove the reward for a short period until he learns not to do it anymore. I met Andy at the Dog Park and I knew I wanted my pup to learn the behaviors he was teaching a couple of dogs that day. She went to him at five months old, already showing stubbornness and frustrating me. She has developed wonderfully and although I was concerned about the transition to me, as her owner/handler, it has been so much easier than I expected. I am thrilled with the results and can’t recommend Andy enough. Brookie is doing great and I’m happy to say, we have a fantastic relationship today.

Took our dog here for cage anxiety. He had major anxiety in cage I tried all the tricks I knew but when he broke a tooth I knew I needed more help. Andy helped him thrive and now he can be left at home in a cage not scared at all. He already had basic training done in the past which he just sharpened up more but the cage was our main concern as I knew he needed more help then I could give. Andy worked his magic and now a dog that was passed along to foster after foster 15 of them and was found in the forest. Has a loving home and now he is safe and knows how to relax in a cage.
