Does modern dog training have board and train program?
Hi Mike- We do not provide nor recommend board and train services. The board and train setup is extremely ineffective overall; the dog will of course respond to the trainer but it is highly unlikely any success will carry over to everyday life at home or for the guardian. The most effective training option is always private in-home lessons. In this setup, we work together to teach the guardian how to effectively manage and communicate with their dog. We caution against any type of board and train for safety reasons. There are many facilities and trainers that can endanger and/or otherwise cause harm to your dog both physically and mentally when you are not present.

Kelsey at a Modern Dog helped us with our reactive pups and helped us to create a peaceful & safe home for our dogs! She is patient, thorough, and is a really amazing teacher. I always felt comfortable asking questions and she was so good at helping us to work through issues. I want to thank Kelsey and A Modern Dog Training for all the encouragement and reassurance given class. Winston is my first dog and on top of that a puppy! He's also a little anxious and fearful in new places. I always feel like I don’t know what I am doing nor do I feel confident in my training and always say “I think I broke the dog!” but during my AKC STAR Puppy Class Test, I was proven wrong. He did so well! Better than what I expected. I have Kelsey and A Modern Dog Training to thank for that. Kelsey set me up with the tools necessary to set my pup up for success. The class size of 5 students is perfect to help Winston learn in a high distraction environment (his biggest challenge) and get one-on-one observation from Kelsey. I look froward to continue working with them through out Winston's training!

On top of training LuLu she trained my 5 year old mini golden doodle is who is scared of everything. She gave me advice with her and I thought she was impossible to train! I would 100% recommend Kelsey to anyone! Thank you!!!
Kristen was friendly and very knowledgeable. She worked with my schedule every week and gave me all the tools needed to train my puppy. I appreciate her work and her skills and would/will recommend her to anyone that needs dog training.
