Does modern dog training have board and train program?
Hi Mike- We do not provide nor recommend board and train services. The board and train setup is extremely ineffective overall; the dog will of course respond to the trainer but it is highly unlikely any success will carry over to everyday life at home or for the guardian. The most effective training option is always private in-home lessons. In this setup, we work together to teach the guardian how to effectively manage and communicate with their dog. We caution against any type of board and train for safety reasons. There are many facilities and trainers that can endanger and/or otherwise cause harm to your dog both physically and mentally when you are not present.

My partner and I were at our wit’s ends with our shipoo Joey’s demand barking and her reactivity to our cat. Kelsey came to our home multiple times and patiently worked with Joey and the two of us, teaching us best how to anticipate and positively distract Joey before these bad behaviors happen. Not only our are ears grateful but our cat Stanley is as well! Don’t hesitate, Kristen and Kelsey know their stuff!
We had an excellent experience having Kristen help us with training for our 3 month old Chesapeake Bay Retriever! We have a toddler at home as well, and the combination was definitely a struggle. Kristen helped us adopt concrete, positive training tools to help our pup learn how to be part of our family in a safe, healthy and happy way. I highly recommend A Modern Dog Training!
