FirstBarkKristen and her team are extremely knowledgeable. They make sure to focus on positive training and wow it worked for us! Jack was very on edge, guarded and was reactive when we first started. After our training he is so much better with all those things and we know strategies to keep working with him. Highly recommend Modern Dog!!

Does modern dog training have board and train program?
Hi Mike- We do not provide nor recommend board and train services. The board and train setup is extremely ineffective overall; the dog will of course respond to the trainer but it is highly unlikely any success will carry over to everyday life at home or for the guardian. The most effective training option is always private in-home lessons. In this setup, we work together to teach the guardian how to effectively manage and communicate with their dog. We caution against any type of board and train for safety reasons. There are many facilities and trainers that can endanger and/or otherwise cause harm to your dog both physically and mentally when you are not present.

Kristen helped us so much with our dog Pearl! We just recently had a baby and our pup was becoming more reactive and showing high anxiety. Kristen taught us how to help Pearl get back to a healthy diet, enrichment, and exercise routine. She was also able to help us learn several training techniques, as well as help us practice engagement and disengagement scenarios. We found the entire process incredibly helpful and professional. We got an online training prior to private lessons and a clear email weekly with action steps along with several training guides and resources for us to refer back to. In addition, Kayla was so helpful. She answered every question sent and also did an amazing job with Pearl’s holiday photos. We have been to other facilities and nothing compares to our experience here. We highly reccomend Modern Dog!
Great experience with help in training and helping assist in my older dog. We have two corgis. One puppy and one 6 year old. Training can be difficult with two. Modern dog made it possible

I LOVE this training facility and my trainer, Amanda, helped me and my dog Jax out tremendously!!! Jax is a very large 1 year old rottie that started to get reactive due to little things. I have a pug and we all know little dogs are little Napoleons. Well the anxiety started to increase over time. I believe something happened at Daycare. I had done all of the right things, introduced him to people, kids, dogs, cats and everything else...like going to Home Depot and Lowes, kids bus stops, had him around everything and anything ever since he was a puppy. But one day...he just got so anxious around anything and everyone he did not know. Modern Day and Amanda have really trained ME and Jax on what to do. She has provided me with some great tips that we will continue to work on daily so that Jax can grow with his new confidence. Hopefully he will become a therapy dog like my other rotties, he has changed that much!
Kristen and her team are amazing to work with. We've learned so much about our puppy and ourselves as dog owners. Can't recommend Modern Dog more highly!
