Monument City Dog

Laura and Monument City Dog did an absolutely incredible job with my 6 month old standard poodle named Blue. Before Laura, Blue was on her own journey on walks. She pulled me everywhere and was distracted by anything she could see or smell. Her recall was nonexistent. She considered it a game when I told her to come. Getting her to go in the crate and not bark was also a challenge. I could go on and on about the issues I was having with my dog. After the 3 week board and train program at MCD, it is like I have a whole different dog! Now our walks are very enjoyable. Blue stays in the heel position until told she can break. Distractions are no longer a problem because she prioritizes me. Laura is incredible and I highly recommend her as she is a premier dog trainer! Her program is worth every penny! I can't say enough great things about working with Laura and MCD. We have now sent 2 dogs (with completely different demeanors) to MCD and had incredible experiences both times. When we sent our 9 month, reactive puppy first, we were worried that it may change his derpy personality and that couldn't be further from the truth - he loved training and still gets so excited when he gets to board with Laura, basically somersaulting into her. We even ran into an instance where he was struggling post-training a bit with his walk and Laura made a special trip to our house to help us work through it with him in his environment. We then sent our 7yo stubborn dog, who was very set in her ways, and somehow Laura also was able to "teach an old dog new tricks", or rather, teach her she has to listen to the tricks and commands when told, a completely new lifestyle for her. Throughout the entire training process, Laura kept us updated on their progress, sent videos of the training, and even extended our dog's training a couple extra days to make sure she got everything she needed. The level of personalization for every single dog and owner's lifestyle can't be overstated. We love our new life of being able to take our dogs everywhere with us, wether that be off-leash hiking or sitting on a patio for brunch, THANK YOU MCD!

Laura and her staff at MCD are beyond amazing and have been completely life changing for our family! We were connected with her after we added a second rescue pup to our family over 3 years ago. She did a thorough assessment to learn about our lifestyle and what our priorities were. After her board and train program, the life we were able to lead with our pups was almost unrecognizable. She clearly taught us how to transfer what they had learned into our daily lives and she was always there for any questions we had along the way. We still send them to her for the occasional tune up and to this day she is only a phone call away if we need help troubleshooting any new behaviors that arise. She has given our pups the confidence to know that they can handle any situation and that we will always be there to advocate for their needs. She cares for them like her own and cultivates an environment where their goofy personalities continue to shine. Our city pups are living their absolute best life thanks to Laura and MCD <3
