We sadly regret choosing the four week board and train program which cost us $3600 and meant parting ways with our best friend for four weeks. I encourage anyone considering this kind of program to ask for referrals from owners with similar training concerns and insist on real demonstrations of your trainer at work. We made a 100 mile move while our dog was in training and if I had this to do over, I would have waited until after we moved and likely gone with a local trainer that requires doing a personal evaluation and training session with the dog and owner before determining how to move forward. Heather assigned Blair to work with us because she is supposed to be a specialist with reactive dogs. However, I truly believe that with some one on one training sessions, I could have worked with my dog myself to get the same kind of results Blair did. We had already done a lot of obedience training and crate training with our dog, which Blair commended us on, so he was not starting from scratch. We have seen some improvement in his behavior, but not enough to justify this program, which did not teach everything outlined in the agreement. Additionally, the lack of communication was extremely disappointing! The contract promises open, on-going dialogue as well as one training video a week. We only received two half minute videos, one of him walking on her deck, and the other of Heather giving him treats. We never received training videos and I had to take the initiative to get updates. I generally received short and vague responses. Over the course of the 4 weeks I did receive 5 photos of him looking at the camera. Blair also failed to send different types of information that weren’t requested but were what she promised. And now it’s now been 8 days since our dog was returned and we haven’t heard a single word from her, not even to check in and see how he’s doing. Also of concern was his weight loss and overgrown nails. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience for us.

Heather is amazing!! She helped us with our boy, Draco, with leash manners, confidence in social settings, recall, and placing. Before Heather, we couldn’t walk Draco around the neighborhood in fear he would pull the leash, and go crazy when there was other people and dogs around. Now, we can safely take him on walks, have him heel, and not have to worry about him barking and charging at other people and things. After our board and train, we reached out to Heather to help with some additional practice for ourselves and Draco. We scheduled a session with her within a few days of us reaching out and she trained us and him on how to fix our problems! Heather is very easy to talk to, very professional, and is there for help when you need it! I would recommend her to any one who has a reactive dog and needs help!!

We took our Catahoula Remi to Heather for a 3 week board and train. Remi had dog reactivity issues and it was really hard to walk with her in public. After 3 weeks with Heather, Remi has a solid foundation of recall, place and heel. She listens to us much more, is more calm on walks and pays less attention to other dogs. Heather was great to work with, she communicated progress and updates throughout the boarding and helped us learn everything we needed when we picked Remi up. Highly recommend!

We did the 3 week board and train with our 11 month old Shepard. She was very hyper and pulled us when on her leash. She was very reactive and we were afraid to take her in public. After her training with Heather she is calm, listens to commands and we were taught how to handle her. If you are on the fence about getting training from Heather, DO IT! You will be able to enjoy your fur baby and not be stressed out.
