I have had the opportunity to work with both Steve and North doing some dog training (spring 2026). I appreciate the one on one coaching and attention both my pup and I get. Not only was i able to sharpen my pups skill set, but I was able to grow, learn and apply the new skills that I too was/am learning. The environment is always welcoming, and both Steve and North actively listen to me and address my concerns, as well as provide valuable feedback each lesson, which then allows me to actively practice weekly. Because of the expert training, my pup and I are much more confident in public situations and my pup is much more relaxed, looking to me for guidance. I would recommend Nitro k-9 to ALL dog owners.

Steve’s knowledge and experience in dog training are truly exceptional. He promised to train our dog to become a service dog so she could travel with us on the plane. It was very important for us to avoid putting our dog in cargo again, as our first experience was extremely traumatic. He delivered on his promise—Nala is now a trained service dog and was able to fly with us. On top of that, our dog had ongoing digestive health issues, and his advice consistently made an immediate difference in her condition. We are also very grateful to North, who supported us throughout the training process and was excellent. We are extremely satisfied with both Steve and North and we highly recommend this training program.

PSA: if you are currently taking your dog to a training that involves clickers and ineffective games please do yourself a favor and contact Nitro K9. We have a border collie / shepherd and a Doberman / shepherd both working dog high energy breeds and our doby is just 8 months old and we spent a good amount of time and money at a training facility that only does positive reinforcement and clicker training and it seriously made our baby boy regress. He needs structure, and drive, and leadership and stability and UNDERSTANDING and that is what Steve does for you. As a testament, I’m not even done with training we are only 4 sessions in and I’ve seen INCREDIBLE results. A total 360 from a few months ago.. our boy is walking next to us with no leash. He’s listening and hungry for his next task. We also completely changed his diet (per Steve’s recommendation) and when I tell you this has changed both our dogs skin, nails, fur, bowels, energy I am not lying. I cannot give Steve and the people at Nitro enough credit. These are good people that know what they are talking about and will completely change your dog in the best way possible. Nitro K-9 provided the perfect customer experience as well as the perfect puppy experience. We brought out 3 month old American Bulldog Dux to Steve after a friend recommended him us to. From the introduction class we knew we were all in great hands. We've been able to train Dux both on leash and off leash. Steve and North ensured we used the proper techniques along the way and we would recommend Nitro K-9 to anyone looking to train their dogs. Thank you Steve and North for everything!

I loved working with Steve and North at Nitro K-9!! I have a Border Collie, Sadie, and as a first-time dog owner… I was STRUGGLING. She’s so smart with so much energy, and I felt completely out of my depth trying to meet her mental and physical needs. I tried other training facilities that provided solid basic training, but treats and basic positive reinforcement just weren’t cutting it. On top of that, I was overwhelmed with all the different training options out there. Steve didn’t just train Sadie, he really trained me too. He took the time to explain her behaviors and what to look out for. For example, what’s related to her breed vs. what’s actually reactivity that needs to be corrected. I feel so much more confident assessing her behavior and knowing how to respond instead of just guessing. I can actually communicate with her now, which has made such a huge difference!! I was also super nervous about all the different training tools, what to use, how to properly introduce them, and honestly just scared of causing a negative experience for her. But he walked me through everything and made me feel way more comfortable using them correctly and responsibly. That alone gave me so much more confidence and trust in her, especially off leash and in overstimulating environments. Instead of adding to my anxiety, Sadie actually helps decrease it through pressure and task work. I trust Sadie, I understand her, and I’m able to give her a much more fulfilling life. I genuinely can’t put into words how much their training helped both of us. I’d 100% recommend Nitro K-9! Everyone there is AWESOME!!
