STEVE IS THE BEST! If you’re looking for a dog trainer, Steve at Nitro K9 is it! Other training programs failed and it did nothing for my dogs. Steve is the real deal! He doesn’t just train your dog… he teaches YOU. You learn how to build trust, communicate clearly, and create a stronger more meaningful bond with your fur baby. These last 14 weeks have been such an amazing experience. Not only have my dogs improved in obedience but I’ve learned how to work with them in a completely different way. I’m beyond happy with our progress and so excited to keep going and dive even deeper into everything Steve teaches!

Working with Steve and North has been life changing for both me and my dog Cinnamon. After a difficult incident that shook both of our confidence, this training has helped us more than I can explain. Cinnamon is so much more confident, and so am I as her owner too. We’ve built such a stronger bond and connection through this process and learned so much together. My wife and I had a great experience with Nitro K9 and highly recommend them for service dog training. When we started, the process felt unclear and intimidating—especially around tools like prong collars and e-collars—but Steve and his team took the time to educate us, address misconceptions, and make sure we felt comfortable and confident every step of the way. The results have been fantastic. We now have a dog who’s obedient and focused when working, but still playful and full of personality off-duty. She can walk/run off leash and perform her service tasks consistently, even with distractions. The beginning was challenging since both we and our dog were new to this, but once it started to click, everything changed. We became more consistent, our dog thrived, and our relationship grew stronger—an unexpected and really rewarding side effect. The trainers were patient, supportive, and genuinely great to work with. We cannot express how grateful we are for Steve, North and the rest of their team at Nitro K-9. Their education completely changed the way we understand dogs and how to build a positive relationship with them. We enrolled our rescue dog, Binky, with whom we were starting to feel very frustrated with because we couldn’t seem to get him to focus. Walks with him were a nightmare — leash pulling, nose to ground all the time, walking with no direction, and wouldn’t respond to simple commands. In the house, he was equally stubborn. It was as if he was either too confused or too excited to focus. We didn’t want to rely on treats, either; we’ve seen other dogs who wouldn’t respond to their parents when the treats are absent. It was by chance that we saw Nitro; we were just driving by and saw the K-9 signage. We took it as a sign and put Binky in for classes. We’re not exaggerating when we say that Binky is not the same dog after just one class. As if by magic (but really, science), Binky became a dog with focus and attention. And he just kept improving. For us, the fog of misconceptions, etc. about dogs and training lifted as we did more of the classes. It was as much of a learning experience for us as it was for Binky. How we see and train our dog is never the same since going to Nitro. Binky would impress our friends and we would tell them about Nitro, the training he has done, and the education we’ve received. Some may still be skeptical, but we stand by Nitro and all we’ve learned from them. After all, the results speak for themselves. Thank you Steve, North, and the Nitro team!!!
