Richard and Alyssa are knowledgeable and patient dog trainers. They are a pleasure to work with even w a difficult breed or older dog. Richard no question has the background and training to really turn your dog around and importantly patiently train you to be the leader your dog is asking you to be. I’ve worked w many trainers over the years as I have a German Shepherd working line who is way smarter than my knowledge allowed when I got him. I’m not a typical dog trainer/ client especially for this type of working line anima. Richard is patient and makes sure I get it. The methods are balanced entirely, effective and most importantly don’t lead to anxiety in the animal or handler as some training methods do. I fully endorse them and find that even w a long drive to train I get my money and times worth in a dog w whom I now have much clearer communication and working relationship.

We brought our 11-month-old Golden Retriever/Bernese Mountain Dog to Rich to work on a few training challenges, especially leash walking. He’s a big, strong dog, and we were struggling to control him on leash, but we saw improvement almost immediately. Over our first five lessons, both my husband and I gained confidence walking him and learned clear, practical tools for handling different situations. Rich is a great teacher who truly wants owners to understand the why behind the training and always takes the time to clearly answer any questions we have. We also worked on solidifying cues like sit, down, and place, began recall training, and are working toward reliable off-leash skills. The progress he’s made in just five sessions has been impressive, and we’re excited to continue training and building on it.

Rich and his family are top notch, one of a kind. I was at the last straw with my dog, I leave often and my wife is home with him and our three kids and he is a working dog so requires alot of attention. He was extremely uncomfortable around other dogs. Rich was our last resort before giving him up. After the first session my dog was sitting, lying and going to his place. I’ve been with Rich now for months and the amount of progress Hank has had has been unreal. I’ve wasted money on two additional trainers before with almost zero results. The most important thing Rich does at your dogs training is straining the owner. I’ve probably learned more from Rich than my dog, he shows you how to handle your dog in all situations. I feel more comfortable now as a dog owner to take him on walks and ensure he is disciplined and safe at the house. I don’t plan to stop using Rich anytime soon, training your dog can go as far as you want. Money well spent and significantly cheaper than my other two trainers I used.
