North Star K9 Training

We signed our pup up for the 2-week Adventure Camp. I was able to meet with Kami beforehand to get a feel for what camp would entail and so she could get a feel for my dog. While Charlie was at camp, I never once worried about how he was doing - I feel like he probably didn't even miss me and my husband! Kami was extremely responsive and we LOVED getting the daily photos and video updates. Charlie is home now and doing great! Our biggest struggles in training were "come when called" and "stay/place". He's now fully trained on both of those and we have the tools to reinforce his training. I would give 10 stars if I could!

Our beagle, Petey, spent two weeks with trainer Kami for adventure camp. Petey is a high energy pup who often found himself getting into trouble. I had tried everything I knew to train him at home, but it was as if he didn’t care. Walks were difficult and I felt like we were constantly frustrated with one another. Kami worked her magic and Pete has become a well mannered boy! I looked forward to daily picture and video updates, and Kami did a wonderful job presenting any concerns she had for our Petey. She truly cares about the dogs in her care and I feel so lucky to have her. Petey and I thoroughly enjoy our walks now, and I feel like I now have the tools I need to manage his day to day needs. I cannot say enough good things about Kami and North Star K9!

North Star K9 was absolutely fantastic with our 2 German Shepherds. We sent them as older dogs (6 and 8) and were worried about the old adage "hard to teach and old dog new tricks". Our girls biggest issues were confidence and anxiety and Lindsey at North Star did an amazing job at helping build them up. In doing so, they became much more aware of the commands they are given, listening on the first give, and being less anxious in unfamiliar spaces. She did an amazing job of keeping us updated everyday with a synopsis of the training and LOTS of pictures so we were comfortable with their progress. They ensured that they both came back more well trained but also the same dogs we know and love. Would highly recommend sending your dog if you are wanting better training in addition to ensuring your dog does not come back militant to the extent of not being the same personality you sent away. Bonus as well, the program offers free follow ups for life and we already have subsequent sessions scheduled to review some of the new tricks we are wanting to teach them. Highly recommend. Great people, great trainers, and a wonderful overall experience.

Ellie at Northstar recently trained our 1-year-old Westie girl, Mia, and Mia's behavior is remarkably better. She no longer barks at people, and she obeys commands easily. I was so impressed with Ellie and Northstar that she is now training our 7-year-old Westie girl, Charlie Girl. We bought the 2-week program for both our dogs, and I highly recommend it. Mia loved Ellie so much that she wanted to go with her when she picked up Charlie Girl for training. That's a great recommendation from a dog! You can't go wrong with Northstar!
