Off Leash K9 Training Central Florida

We can’t say enough good things about OLK9 Central Florida and more importantly their trainer, Johnathan. Starting with the first quick call, to a phone conference answering ALL of our questions, Asia explained and took the time to answer every question we had…and trust me it was a LIST. We recently had our Shih Tzu, Lucy, enrolled in a Service Dog 2wk Board & Train program to refine her skills and help in areas she was lacking. Johnathan handled her sass and intelligence well. At first, when looking into various training programs, we were concerned about sending Lucy away, how that would affect her and if she would be loved and cared for while being boarded. But Johnathan, and his family, made sure Lucy was welcomed, loved and taken care of. He kept us informed throughout her stay and was transparent and honest about how things were going. We felt Lucy was learning, safe and in good hands. We met up with Johnathan again after we had Lucy back with us, and she was excited to see him! Which makes you feel good as a pet parent, when your dog recognizes their trainer and is happy to see them again. All in all, we believe the training was worth the time and money. In the two weeks Lucy spent with Johnathan, she expanded her skill set and is easier to work with now. Lucy is a smart, sassy girl and now she can put her intelligence to work with dependability and more commands. The e-collar proves to be a gentle way to work together with your dog and get results faster. Lucy’s rule for the normal tasks was turning into a “will work for treats” attitude and being trained for service animal work, you can imagine how difficult that would be if she got in that sort of mood when tasks needed to be preformed, especially in public. Johnathan was able to ween her from the “treat payment plan” to no treats needed, within a few days. Now Lucy is able to listen and obey much better than before, even when not wearing the e-collar. We also feel good about Johnathan & Lucy’s time together because he took time for her to get used to him, his family, and the new environment before starting to “work” with her. He didn’t just rush into work and taking treats away like a drill sergeant. He made sure she was comfortable and adjusted first, as this was also her first time being away from any family she knew. We have recommended OLK9CF, specifically Johnathan, to our veterinarian for her own dogs, people who inquire about Lucy’s training and we will continue to spread the word because the experience and results were well worth it in our opinion. A specific shout out and HUGE thanks to our trainer and Lucy’s adopted uncle(lol), Johnathan. Thank you for all you have done for us and Lucy! For always being awesome to work with, talk with, and answer all of the helicopter parenting texts; you made this experience the best it could’ve been! We appreciate you so much! And special thanks to your family, too, for loving on our girl when she was in your care. We are so grateful. All this to say that anyone wondering if OLK9CF is a good decision, we’re happy to say that yes, it absolutely is.
