We are doing the 8 week course for a cane corso pup and about half way thru. The first 20-30 mins are mike explaining the command(s) and working with the dog. The other time is you working with your dog and being trained by mike how to work the dog properly. Hes very big on making sure I am establishing the trust and execute clear confident commands so my dog knows what she is supposed to do and that she can trust me. He has shown me her trigger warnings from ears to happy feet and I know I have to give her a clear command to work to keep her focused on me and not the distraction. I was hesitant to use a e collar but he turned it up to 34 in my hand before i felt anything. My 8 month old pup at 55pds trains on level 5-7. He was very thorough on what we do and dont do with the e collar. Its a TOOL not something the dog will fear unless you use it as weapon. Do not let the price deter you!! You need to put the work in between trainings as well.

We cannot say enough amazing things about Mike and our experience with Obi’s 2-week board and train! Obi is a 7-month-old Golden Retriever with a LOT of puppy energy, and we were amazed by the progress he made in such a short amount of time. Mike was absolutely phenomenal throughout the entire process. He was an incredible communicator, kept us updated, and made sure we understood what Obi was learning and how we could continue building on it at home. At pickup, he took the time to make sure we felt confident and prepared to continue Obi’s training ourselves, which meant so much to us. Obi came home a much more confident, well-mannered, and happy dog, and we are so excited to continue working with him! We would recommend Mike and his training services 1,000x over to anyone looking for someone who truly cares about both the dogs and their owners. When my husband and I adopted Jose in December we were not anticipating the stubborn mule of a dog we were getting. He constantly escaped every harness we bought him, barked at anyone who came within ten feet of him or his house, fought with our other dog, and even bit a friend of ours. After a month, we were ready to rehome him. We found Off Leash through a Google search and said, “This is it. If he can’t be trained after three weeks of intensive work, then we need to find a new place for Jose to live.” Mike took Jose and worked with him for three long, exhausting weeks. Jose is a stubborn beast, but when we picked him up it was like he was forever changed. He now knows how to heel, come, lie down, and isn’t reacting to everything that enters his sight. Mike unlocked Jose’s “secret code” and helped teach us how to continue to train him using pressure the right way. I cannot recommend Mike and Off Leash K9 Training enough. He has helped Jose truly become a part of our family.

My dog Paris and I just completed the four week course with Mike. Not sure who got more out of the training, myself or my dog! Mike not only taught me training techniques but thoroughly explained what the thought process was behind the training each step of the way. Paris is becoming a more confident pup as a result. Going for walks is no longer a tug of war! Before training my wife could not take Paris for a walk. Now we all get to enjoy stress free walks together. Just a reminder that you will have homework each week that makes all the difference in the world. Mike is an excellent trainer of dogs and their owners 😄
