Off Leash k9 Training Reno

We sent our three Rottweiler sisters to Off Leash K9 Training Reno for a few reasons. The main reason being two of them were fighting pretty bad and we just weren’t sure how to handle it other than keep them separated. They were starting to have aggression towards other dogs when in public. This made my husband and I very sad because we absolutely love taking all three of them wherever we can. They also jumped on whoever came over and they are big dogs so we couldn’t have that. But the fighting was the main concern and re-homing any of them simply isn’t an option. We are beyond amazed at their transformation! They came back completely different but still the same dogs, if that makes sense. Their demeanor is overall calmer. They have manners! All three of them get along and work together so well now. When they aren’t in a command, they are still the same silly, loving, playful, amazing dogs! The two that were fighting are playful with each other and even choose to lay near each other. Rick sent us daily text and video updates. They were great!! And I could see not only how well they were doing, but how happy all three of them were the whole time. We recommend Rick and Off Leash K-9 1000%! We could not be happier!!

One regret. Not committing sooner! Summary: Responsive, communicative, gentle, effective techniques, exceptional dog & owner training, excellent support materials and follow up. Hiring Rick at Off Leash K9 Training Reno was money well spent! We vacillated far too long thinking our 1.5 year old black lab, Jolene, would settle down and lose undesirable behaviors we attributed to her being a puppy. We finally contracted with Rick at Off Leash K9 when we realized we weren’t at all enjoying our dog in public or when having company over. At times we even argued about how to approach the issues at hand like excessive, high pitch barking & leash pulling. It was also the humans who needed to be trained- but first, Jolene needed to trust Rick in order to learn new commands and a new way of dealing with stress- even happy, excited stress. This is why we called Off Leash K9 Training Reno. During our initial inquiry process, Martha promptly addressed every question. When it came time to drop Jolene off with Rick for the 14 day training program, any anxiety we had was relieved the moment we all met in person. He had already communicated how the drop off would go, and that he’d share pictures and videos each day so we could see Jolene and her progress. Though we were experienced dog owners who had watched dog training shows & read several books on training, it was Rick’s explanations that really made sense. Through watching the videos Rick sent, we could watch, listen and learn by his example how to respond and lead. Rick insures that trust is a strong bond between him and the dogs in his care, that your pet is safe and healthy in his care, and that they are enjoying training. We experienced a testimonial to that bond a week after the conclusion of training. We had to take a weeklong trip, so we hired Rick for boarding. Naturally, we were curious how Jolene would react when we dropped her off. She was all wags as she greeted Rick- then trotted straight in. Through the experiences with Rick, we were pleased with the level of communication we received. It was above and beyond expectation. We now know that every video and exchange with Rick was meant to lay a foundational understanding for us- so we would not only see her progress but we would start learning a new way of leading our dog. On pick up day, we spent almost 2 hours with Rick as he trained us- exceptional! The reunion with Jolene was sweet- then more training for us- instructions on handling, our tone of voice, and much more. Rick insured we had a thorough working knowledge of the e-collar & remote. We even used it on our own hands so we could feel exactly what she feels. At the time of this writing, it has been almost two months since we completed the program. Even the excessive barking has vanished. Rick showed us how to have a healthy relationship with our dog. We now enjoy all outings & social gatherings. We can bring her to a restaurant patios, and can take her anywhere dogs are allowed. All this and we almost never need to use the remote. We can easily take her anywhere dogs are allowed. All this and amazingly, we almost never need to use the remote to remind her. We can say with confidence that choosing Rick for training was the best decision we could have made. His kindness, experience and skill level with dogs and their people is worth every single penny! No more being dragged by a leash, no more shouting her name, no more exasperated owners. Talia, one of the trainer, was assigned to us kind of unexpectedly. Long story short, we almost had to cancel our training and Talia came to us. To be honest, I was a little nervous at the beginning as I didnt know anything about Talia--her experience and background. I have a rather difficult 'child' to work with--a nervous, fear agressive, and a rescue that desperately needed socializing. However, after our first conversation, my worries was put to rest. Not only she has experiences with the breed--shepsky, but she also had adopted two rescued shepsky herself. After learning about that, I was actually super excited as I knew Machu would be in a good hand. And I was right! Talia worked with him on his socializing from day 1 and continued helping him throughout the whole three-week board and train program. She brought him to meet new friends, to the malls, and to many other exciting places that he didnt get a chance to go previously with me. She sent updates in form of text, photo, and video everyday. Sometimes, all three in one day. What a treat that was! On a slower days, Talia would work on obedience with Machu. We were super excited on the day that we got him back. To say that he was a completely different boy is a little exaggerated but I can see SIGNIFICANT improvements from him. We were able to bring him to Petco with us right away. I was definitely not confident to go there previously. He needed some corrections but nonetheless listened like a champ. And that was just the beginning of the better life that we can/want to give to Machu. Overall, we were so glad that Talia worked with us. She was knowledgeable, approachable, and super helpful. If I could rate her service, it would be 15/10 -- HIGHLY recommended. Especially if you have a Shepsky, Talia is your gal.
