On The Spot Dog Training

As I considered using Lisa for my in-home puppy training I contemplated whether to "save money" by having her show ME how do the training or go with my gut and let the professional take over. As a business owner, I try to surround myself with good people and time is extremely valuable to me so I went with my gut--- turned out to be the best decision I made! As I opened the door for our first visit, my anxiety increased wondering how my 2 little puppies would react to this stranger. My little girl - Hershey - can be quite the diva and as Lisa politely asked how potty training was going, we watched as she squatted in front of us going to the bathroom just to show us who was boss! My little boy - Wrangler- is afraid of his own shadow and wouldn't even come close - and when he finally did, he tried to nip at her held out hand! Lisa didn't miss a beat. She quickly corrected Hershey and unzipped her fleece jacket and snuggled Wrangler inside. Within less than one week, potty training was going dramatically better and after that first visit, Wrangler was on board 100% Lisa had absolutely no problem allowing me to sit in on each visit, politely answering all my questions. I watched in amazement as slowly both puppies learned her commands. She taught them to sit, stay, come and walk politely next to me but more importantly Lisa has taught ME to be a better mama to my babies by creating an environment of love, safety, structure and security. Instead of constantly saying "no" or yelling at them to be quiet, she has taught me to reward their good behavior, be consistent and make training fun! Are they perfect? Absolutely not but Lisa has also taught me that training is a life long process and hopefully given me the tools to continue what she started. What a wonderful gift to be able to watch your dogs thrive and get excited when they hear the word YES!! As we wrapped up our last visit today, I am a little sad realizing how much my babies will miss their new found friend. Thank you Lisa for everything you have done for me, Hershey and Wrangler.
