My Duey was suffering from terminal cancer when a wonderful and kind friend from Bend gifted me a reading with Sarah-Anne. Her compassion, sensitivity and sacred ability to communicate Duey's feelings, pain and guiding light enabled me to move towards celebrating our valuable and very short time together and at the same time opened an awareness of our future spiritual path ahead. With gratitude, Sarah-Anne even stayed by my side as the days and months passed since Duey’s passing. Now, Duey travels on my shoulder every day bringing great comfort and joy. He remains my good boy and shinning light. It’s true, life is a mystery and Sarah-Anne reminded me to be open to its amazing ways. Duey and I send our deepest thanks to both my dear friend in Bend and to you Sarah-Anne for sharing your love and peace. We will all work together (Duey too) in discovering my next little love. I have used Sarah-Anne for several behavior issues with my weimaraners and she has been extremely helpful. She is very knowledgable and compassionate, and I swear, speaks dog. She listens, evaluates both you and your dog, and then teaches you behaviors to get the desired outcome from your dog. Essentially she teaches you to speak dog. And I've found communicating with my dog extremely rewarding for us both. I have used several dog behaviorists/trainers in the past, and I find her methods the kindest with the best outcome. It's based on understanding your dog and positive reinforcement.

We met Sarah-Anne when we got our new Westie pup, Maisie. She was a good girl, but we wanted to be sure we were doing the right kind of training so that we would not get into any "conflicts" or "negative" training with her. Sarah-Anne's approach was perfect: gentle, understanding, and easy for Maisie to accept. Easy for Maisie's humans to accept, too. Westies think they know what's best for them. That's not always true and can lead to heads banging. But with Sarah-Anne's guidance, we learned the "soft-sell" to get Maisie to buy into our intentions. It's worked and we have been very pleased.

My dog Bernie could be called a 'Wild Child'. I asked for help from Sarah-Anne when he was about 8 months old (He is now almost 2), Bernie is a rez dog and came with a lot of behavioral difficulties. He struggled severely with separation anxiety, he would bite/nip/mouth on walks (and other times), he would bark at everything, and often refused to eat his food. Since working with Sarah-anne Bernie has made a huge turn around. He heels and walks nicely on the leash. He now eats every meal (but doesn't act anxiously around food). His nipping has stopped and he is now very gentle with his mouth. And most importantly, I can now leave him at home! His separation anxiety has disappeared. He used to destroy everything, and he'd bark/cry for hours if he was left at home alone (I had received multiple notes on my door from my neighbors who were concerned about him). Now, I can leave him at home and he doesn't mind AT ALL. He lays on his bed when I leave and is almost always in the same spot when I return home. The training provided by Sarah-anne has given Bernie and I so much peace of mind, I cannot recommend her enough- especially if you have a dog suffering from separation anxiety like I did.

First things first: If you are looking for help training your "normal" dog, and especially if you have a dog who is a little anxious or has some other quirks, you should basically just call and set up your meetings with Sarah-Anne. Then finish reading the review. Our older dog, Monty, is anxious, he barks a lot at people when they come to the house, and sometimes out on the trail. When we leave town, he pukes a lot and sometimes won't eat. Our new puppy, Lily, is an Irish Setter who wants nothing more in the world than to chase bugs and play with Monty, or even more so, the neighbor's puppy on the other side of the five foot fence. Which she learned to jump. And she doesn't want to come back when you call her because she has far more interesting things to do. Sarah-Anne has helped us change all of that. Monty, even though his senses are dimming, is back on track to being a much calmer dog. When people come over he no longer barks at them or jumps on them (same with crazy puppy). He did much better last time we left town and didn't puke once! Lily, who just turned one year old, still has her moments. She's a puppy. But she is learning her recall, and learning to listen to us because we have shown kind, compassionate leadership. And we have learned what not to do to make everyone crazy until her puppy brain calms down a bit. The reasons we originally went with Sarah-Anne were: 1. I liked that she came to the house and addressed the issues with ALL the dogs in the house (and really the people, too), so it seemed much more cost-effective; and 2. Our neighbor had also recommended her after seeing his daughter's dog, who had been thrown out of a moving car, learn to happily ride in an auto again. She is worth way more than what she charges - and every time she's come for a session she's always stayed at least 30 minutes longer than usual to help answer our questions. Best of all, she takes true delight in your dogs and your success - she really wants to see you and your dogs succeed and have a wonderful relationship!
