Paramount Dog Training has worked with several of our rescue dogs having issues such as resource guarding, fear aggression, reactiveness to other dogs. Mel and his trainers have been a huge help to our rescue. We have been able to work through their issues and place these dogs in loving homes. If anyone needs help with their dog I would HIGHLY recommend Mel and his team!

Our beautiful golden retriever Gracie had a rough life before we adopted her into our home at the age of 3. We knew we had a diamond in the rough. Although several of our prior dogs had received some training, it never stuck. We wanted to do better with Gracie. The adoption agency recommended Mel. We checked out a few other places and decided to go with Mel and the board and train program. Leaving Gracie for 16 days was tough. But we immediately knew she was in good hands. Mel clearly loves what he does. His knowledge about dogs is amazing. He knows what they do and why they do it. He knows how dogs think! And he uses that knowledge to gently but firmly teach the dog who’s in control and how to follow a command. Gracie used to bark continuously at everything and pull on her leash to chase squirrels and other dogs. Now she walks on the leash beautifully, comes when called, sits when told, heels and stays. She still barks at squirrels and dogs, but immediately stops when told “no.” We are so thankful to Mel. Now if he would only teach Gracie to pick up her toys!
