Hello I would like to get a pet therapy certificate to go to nursing homes etc for a dog that I am thinking of adopting. Do you offer these classes? Thanks Leslie M
Yes we do! We recommend taking our obedience courses (starting with Beginner thru Advanced). A couple months prior to the evaluation we offer a 4 week Therapy Dog Prep class. The evaluation is held once a year in either late May or early June.

How old does your puppy need to be to start training and do they need all shots first?
The puppy class says you can start as early as 8 weeks- 6months that's for the puppy class and then the beginner obedience they have to be 6 months or older and yes you need proof they are up to date on vaccines

Axel, who is a super sweet rescue dog, had a phenomenal beginner obedience coarse with Amanda. He had a great time with the course instruction, and also Amanda was able to help with some of the stress and anxiety issues Ax had from his past. He's a happy boy and looking forward to intermediate training!

Patience Inspired Dog Training was a wonderful learning experience for us as well as our two rescue pups, Zelda and Zach. As recommended, we enrolled in the 6 week private behavioral training. Michelle was truly exceptional in demonstrating the positive reinforcement training techniques. She put us at ease immediately while she taught us the correct techniques and commands. She was very patient and firm in her approach to ensure that we had a full understanding of all of the commands. Our pups now understand all of the commands, and we are now enrolled in the group beginning obedience class to reinforce these commands as well as provide socialization with other dogs. I highly recommend Patience Inspired Dog Training!

Our trainer Jen is so loving and supportive of each dogs learning styles and accomplishments no matter how big or small. Our personal class was on the smaller side which gave each dog the opportunity to be worked with individually which was awesome. They also give you a binder with information that was gone over in class that you can refer back to. I found this to be very useful and knowledgeable. Owen and I loved Jen, all the new doggie friends he’s made, and the overall experience. We will definitely be back soon!
