Both our dogs recently spent a month with Melissa for a much needed behavior overhaul. Since having kids, their manners, leash etiquette, overall behavior, and basically everything else had gone downhill to the point we were beyond frustrated with the situation we found ourselves in with no idea where to turn. When we first met Melissa, she was attentive to our concerns, understanding, and we could tell - she speaks dog! After having them back home for a couple weeks, we still absolutely can not believe what our pups are like now. No jumping on us or guests, no chewing things they shouldn’t, no eating food out of the kids hands or off the counter, no getting up on the bed or couch…nothing! I don’t even think either of them have barked once. They are calm & happy, and they have never been anywhere close to this well mannered, respectful, and obedient. The onus is now on us to keep their training intact, and with Melissa’s (included) ongoing training and support, we know this is the beginning of a wonderful new (and much lower stress) chapter with our dogs. I highly recommend Melissa for all of your dog training needs. We have a three year-old Belgian malinois who needed some manners. After just three sessions, he is no longer jumping on guests, and his leash manners are SO. MUCH. BETTER. Melissa knows exactly what to do for all kinds of behaviors and is teaching me what to do to be a confident (and responsible) dog owner. She is a God send and I am so very thankful for her and her guidance! You’d be crazy not to call her!

I adopted a rescue dog from Tennessee that I named Johnny Cash. It became immediately clear that the 2 year old Lab/Hound mix needed some professional training. After researching dog trainers I settled on Melissa Carter and Paws for Heaven. In 4 lessons she had Cash walking calmly on a leash and most important to me walking off leash with a dependable recall. I recommend Melissa strongly for anyone who has a dog that needs some training. She is great.

We are so thrilled with Melissa's work with both our pups, Ollie and Indie. They both attended board and train with her and came back much better behaved dogs, willing to go to their place, listen to their commands of sit and down, and able to walk on leash without pulling, barking like crazy, or going after dogs.
