We have brought our Bernese mountain dog Kaia to paws mahal since she was just a few months old… we did the puppy kindergarten for 8 weeks and she absolutely loved it and so did we.. after each session we saw amazing improvements in her behavior. We also did the board and train for 2 weeks when she was around 1 year old and you couldn’t believe how much of a difference it made.. she was already a good dog but they took her to another level. They’re facility is top notch and there staff care so much about the animals. Carol is wonderful and is so knowledgeable. She and her staff treated Kaia with so much love. I highly recommend them to anyone who ask. Even though we had to drive over an HOUR every time we took her it was 10000% worth it. I wouldn’t trust my dog with anyone else. PERIOD.

Shock collars to control barking are used on daycare dogs at Paws Mahal! What started as a great experience has unfortunately ended with deep regret and concern. I learned of this from a Better Business Bureau online complaint from a former customer that specifically named my dog (and others) as a daycare pet allegedly put into a crate with a bark collar turned on high to the point of screaming in pain. I then found similar posts on various community sites with the same claims. After contacting the owner of Paws Mahal, she did confirm bark collars are used on dogs but said she did not recall my dog’s specific incident. I signed an online agreement which has a statement “We exercise the right to use efficient and effective teaching techniques for both owner and dog, with safe humane methods and tools. You accept and agree for us to utilize this right.” I never imagined this included the use of a shock collar on my pet. This was never discussed or disclosed to me at any time during our 7 months at daycare. My dog attends daycare to run, play, socialize and of course BARK. I requested a refund for the current daycare package purchased and cancelled all future daycare reservations. The refund was honored by the owner. Lesson learned…..ask questions and be diligent in doing your homework.
