If you're looking for a positive environment for your dog whether it's for boarding, training, or doggy daycare DO NOT ... REPEAT DO NOT...take your dog to Paws Mahal in Sherwood. Whips and shock/bark collars are two primary tools used by the trainers at Paws Mahal. My aunt's dog was hit by one of the trainers and shocked with a bark collar because he barked and angered the employee (so called trainer.) We were horrified to discover how precious pets are treated at Paws Mahal.

My mother-in-law toured Paws Mahal and was appalled. She told me that dogs were shoved in cages to small for their size. She said dogs were crying, shaking and barking. She noticed shock collars laying on the counter and one on a dog inside of the cage. She said the place looked very run down where they took her in the back & not a lot of room outside for the dogs. When she went no dogs were outside. They were all locked up in cages. She noticed whips laying in the outside area where the dogs go. When she asked about the whips the lady told her “oh those were suppose to be put away, we use those for training purposes”. (Another words she forgot to hide them before the tour) She then proceeded to tell her about her approach to training and how owners shouldn’t love on their dogs. It was just a lot for my poor mother-in-law to take in. Needless to say neither of us would EVER take our dogs there. I’m so glad she pushed for the tour. I’ve hesitated to write this review. But if I can help at least one person, more so a dog(s). I’ve done my job.

I trusted my dogs life with these people. Unfortunately it was the biggest mistake of my life. Let’s just say I no longer have my dog. I dropped him off at Paws Mahal and never saw him again. They let him lose. My family is heartbroken. After speaking to some local people, apparently there have been MULTIPLE incidents which have been covered up, paid off and swept under the rug. It’s so sad. If you care about your fur baby at all DO NOT use Paws Mahal. I warn you. The owner is very disingenuous. She puts on a good show.
