Platte Valley Retrievers

Mark did a great job with my two young Great Pyrenees who were pretty unruly. However one of the most important things to me was to keep them from bolting from a vehicle and he didn't work as much on that as I would have liked. So I am now working with that because we travel frequently and I don't need dogs bolting from the vehicle. All in all the experience was great. One thing that Mark told me was that my dogs have learned some very bad habits because I have allowed them to get away with things. He can train them the way they need to learn but unless I persevere and train them like he did I will lose the ability for control. I have learned that I need to keep up with training these dogs because the youngest one especially think she can get away with stuff and I have to be on top of it to make sure she doesn't. They are better than they were before I took them now it's my responsibility to continue on which I truly didn't understand. When I spent the money for a 2-month program I figured I would have well-trained awesomely obedient dogs. That's not the case depending on what your dogs were like when you took them to Mark and how you follow through is huge. I have noticed a big difference but I have to stay on top of it and Mark told me it'll take a full year of being proactive with them until all of this settles into their brains and I have the well-mannered dogs that I want.

My 8 month old lab, Willow went to Mark and came home a changed dog. She walks so much better on a leash and listens to commands with much less direction than before. She is much calmer and I feel much more confident in providing her the freedom she deserves at home and with other dogs. Mark listened to my concerns before dropping her off but also listened to them when I was not seeing the progress I was hoping for. As a stubborn lab, she bought herself more time with Mark. Two weeks later, she was able to come home. She is capable of things I was afraid we would never master, thanks to Mark.
