Can I get pay as you go sessions for my dog for specific problems, such as leash training, separation anxiety, etc. without first signing up for the 6-week course?
Private sessions would be what you need. They are not priced the same as someone who has finished the class course. The first private is one hour fifteen minutes and cost is $150.00...any follow-up is one hour and cost is $95.00. Sessions are held here and scheduling is flexible.Private sessions are very specific to you and your dog and many times one helps enough.

I just adopted a 6yr old dog and found he has a strong prey drive. What level of experience do you have, if any with reactive dogs and what method do you use? Thank you for your time.
I use only positive reinforcement methods for all training. I have 30 plus years of experience using these methods...before they were popular! I am very familiar with the negative results of force training and have studied under many top behavioral trainers. A private consult would be needed for your dog. Now he accompanies us almost everywhere, greets dogs and people politely, and plays with dog friends without incident. He is such a good boy! I have taken dogs to Elaine at Positive Pup for over 25 years. Between puppies of my own and adult dogs that I have fostered I have brought more than a dozen dogs to Positive Pup for training. I have recommended them to friends and to local people who buy Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppies from me. Elaine’s approach is very easy to understand. The classes are small and while while they may include puppies and dogs who are at slightly different levels of training each dog gets individual attention and the owner gets the instruction they need to help their dog succeed. You pay for a package of classes so you don’t have to worry about missing a class due to your schedule. Classes are held outside during warm weather so your dog is learning obedience in a setting with lots of smells that might distract them when they are doing exercises such as heeling. The atmosphere of the classes is very friendly and supportive. I truly cannot recommend Positive Pup more highly.

It's a great group class. Elaine the teacher is fantastic. The setting is indoors but there is a large yard as well. It's very low stress. Would recommend.

I would give more than 5 if possible. I went to Positive pup 15 years ago with 2 JRs. Now have my Rottie puppy in training and Elaine has been wonderful. Very knowledgable. clear
