Practical Obedience LLC - Custom Dog Training

We had such a wonderful experience with Practical Obedience Dog Training! Kailey started initially with my pup and was absolutely incredible! She was so knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in Clover’s success. She gave us so much confidence as first-time puppy owners and always took the time to explain the “why” behind the training. Amy worked with Clover during the second half of her training, and she was just as fantastic. The consistency, communication, and care from the entire team made such a difference. Clover has grown so much in her confidence, focus, and obedience thanks to their guidance. Our hope is for Clover to become a therapy dog one day, and we truly feel like Practical Obedience has given her an amazing foundation to help us work toward that goal. We couldn’t recommend them more highly to anyone looking for knowledgeable, compassionate trainers who truly care about both dogs and their owners. Thank you for everything!

Ally and Maggie were knowledgeable, patient, and kind while helping us with our two small dogs, including one who struggles with anxiety. They clearly explained what they were seeing, gave us practical tools to use at home, and helped us feel more confident handling challenging behaviors. We did a consultation with Practical Obedience after we discovered that our four year old rescue wasn't able to safely interact with other dogs, and ended up doing an info session with Maggie and a three session Reactive Rover program with Ally. The whole process was smooth and comfortable, and everyone was friendly, professional and accommodating throughout. It's really clear how skilled Ally is both with dogs and with people, and the results for Minnie were astonishing. My partner was in tears seeing how well our pup did meeting (and even playing!) with the helper dog in our last session. The service isn't cheap, but it delivers results. We recommend Practical Obedience and Ally whenever we can!

We are grateful to have found Practical Obedience. I was doing research online and started following them on social media... but it was when I brought my pup to the dog park, and a woman did a command with her hand and her pup obeyed, that sold me. I started talking with her and she said they go to Practical Obedience. That was a sign! They really are the best in the business - there isn't another training facility in our area that is like them. We signed our pup up for puppy school where he was socialized with other pups, went on field trips, learned essential commands, grew his confidence (and ours), he was fearful of a crate and now he loves to nap in his crate. Shana was our pup's trainer, and she was fabulous. Everyone from Maggie to Kailey were all great to work with as well. Questions/emails were always responded to in a timely manner, friendly. JUNE 2026 UPDATE: We’re back — because one glowing review wasn’t enough. Higgins completed the Teenage Daycare program and it was a game changer. He was struggling with leash reactivity, and honestly? I learned I was part of the problem. Shana helped us both course correct — we can now go to his chiropractor without me stress-crying in the parking lot. Progress! We also fostered Duncan, a rescue through Safe Haven. Maggie was incredible connecting us with resources when we learned he had confinement anxiety. Duncan even joined puppy school while with us — and he has since been adopted! Absolutely nothing but amazing things to say about Practical Obedience. I highly recommend them and think everyone should take their dogs there for training. My husband and I have used them for puppy day school and now their new group training classes and had great experiences with both. I imagine we will continue with at least a little more training beyond the group classes. We have learned so much raising our first puppy and made huge strides because of the skills we’ve learned from Pratical Obedience. If you are considering any training for your dog or puppy, this is the best place to get it!
