Purpose Driven K9 Dog Training

We have been working with Margaret of Purpose Driven K9 for multiple years. She has made it possible for us to KEEP our family together as we went through a period of time when we thought we wouldn’t be able to keep one of our dogs. The amount of knowledge and patience she has with each dog, owner, and situation is comforting and contagious. She has introduced us and guided us through so many techniques and allowed us to find what worked best for our dogs and our family. We are eternally grateful for what we have learned here. She also does boarding now, which makes it so easy to leave our dogs with someone we trust and who we know has our pets best interest at heart in everything she does.

We rescued a giant sweetheart who needed a lot of manners. He was terrible on a leash, was never socialized, and was unbelievably mouthy. He was never aggressive, but didn't understand his size or strength and mouthed us so black and blue that we thought we had made a mistake. We tried a different trainer and didn't have success and thought that we might have been in over our heads. We found Purpose Driven and did their 12 day board and train program. He came back a different dog. From the moment we got home from the board and train program he never once mouthed us again. He was suddenly comfortable on and off leash and could easily go for walks. He could sit calmly in public and at home. That 100 pound giant puppy is now 165 lbs and is calm, sweet and wonderful and goes absolutely everywhere with us. Strangers stop to say hi to him and can't believe how calm and well behaved he is, especially when they hear is still not even 2. Margaret and her team have been so great with our pup and continue to make him better and I can't say enough good things about them. We plan on eventually trying to rescue another giant bread dog and when we do we will certainly use Purpose Driven K9 to give him or her the training and manners that our current pup now has.

My husband and I took all THREE of our dogs to Purpose Driven K9 for all different issues they were having but the main issue was to prepare our dogs for the arrival of our daughter. I cannot emphasize how happy we are with the results of all our dogs’ behaviors. We took our 4 year old rescue shih tzu for the one week obedience class and he came back to our home acting like a new dog. We then took our 2 65lb golden doodles for 2, 1 hour sessions with the owner Margaret and in just that short amount of time helped us with the issues we were having with them. Everything we were taught to train our dogs didn’t involve a shock collar but involved voice and leash commands. We barely even have to use treats to praise and reward them for being good with the help of her techniques. The ONLY time she recommended shock training was when we ASKED for the advice about our shih Tzu’s constant barking in his crate. I’ve known 2 other families who went thru the program with their dogs and both had great success as well. We highly recommend Purpose Driven K9!!
