Quichapa Kennels

Just picked up our 11 month old German Short Haired Pointer from Quichipa today. I had to double check that it was the same dog, it was night and day compared to when I dropped him off. Dalin did a great job, and they were both very friendly and responsive. I will definitely send our next dog here. My wife and I really liked the weekly video updates and if you live in a hot area it's a great location to send your dog for training during the summer. Would absolutely recommend them.

I was recommended Quichapa Kennels by a lady whose dog had been trained by Dallin. I researched on the internet and immediately liked the way Dani & Dallin presented themselves via their website and they way they mentioned that they would care upmost for you dog. I reached out and Dani got in touch promptly & answered all my questions and put me at ease. I booked the Obedience Training which was 4 weeks long. I initially worried that my dog wouldn’t be happy being away that long but he seemed to really enjoy the training mentally. My dog is a high energy working breed, I trained his recall as much as I could but around distractions I struggled. I ended up running with him on leash for nearly a year . I just wanted him and I to have more freedom on the trails. At home he would chase squirrels in the yard, I couldn’t get him back inside until he was ready. He would also go crazy at anything that walked past the front of our house and these were the main issues I was struggling with. Dallin taught Louix 4 commands using the E collar. Heel, Sit/Stay, Kennel and Here. These 4 commands can be incorporated into any situation. I now have my dog running to heel on the road / trails (on and off leash) He will heel nicely past runners, mountain bikers and dogs. He actually will put himself in heel without me having to ask him once we hit the road to go home. I use ‘Kennel’ for when someone comes to the door or if someone is walking past our house & also for him to go in his crate. He responds to Heel if I want him close and I use Sit/Stay in other situations. We will board our dog there too as and when we go away as I know he will he plenty of exercise. Dallin even ran him alongside his 4x4. These 4 commands have changed our lives for the better, absolute game changer for us. I couldn’t recommend Quichapa Kennels enough!! Sending our dog to be trained by Dallin and Dani was the best decision we could’ve made!! Our dog is sooo sweet but she’s always been super anxious and reactive. She’d bark non stop and pull on her leash during walks. She never listened to us and there was lots of stress around taking her out because of that. It was getting hard to make sure she was exercised enough and emotionally healthy! We sent her for 6 weeks of training (which felt so hard but actually flew by) and it was amazing. She’s now so obedient and confident in herself and my husband and I as her owners. I feel like we all trust each other and work so well together! She doesn’t pull on her leash during walks, as well as walking off leash obediently. She is also so much more confident around new people and dogs which has really reduced her barking! I couldn’t recommend them enough! Dallin is so knowledgeable and you can tell he and Dani love dogs and know how to get the job done. I had hope in this training but my expectations were exceeded greatly!! This is such a good investment to make sure the life you get with your dog(s) is one that’s happy and healthy for you and them!!
