Ramella's Canine Academy

As so many others have done, I adopted a dog during quarantine. Heart worm positive upon adoption, he was placed on strict crate rest during his treatment. Having to keep a hyperactive dog calm for four months was no easy task and so I immediately sought help to reinforce positive habits and help my dog better acclimate to living in the city. Ramella came to my apartment and introduced me to several types of training techniques. She kept every option available as she talked with me about what I would be comfortable with and I never felt rushed in the process. She was a clear communicator and made me feel reassured throughout the process. My dog loved her right away upon first impression and had a very positive experience. He used to be very reactive on the leash and pulled me whenever we went out for walks to the point that I dreaded at times needing to take him outside. But working with Ramella has given me (and my dog!) confidence when we are out and about. To my friends, I have described Ramella as a dog whisperer. I have had a wonderful experience and I would recommend her to anyone!

Ramella came to my home and worked with me and my miniature pinscher Monty. I realized the biggest issue with my dog was me! She helped me figure out how I can do better so that he will behave better. She individualized what we needed and it wasn’t a one size fits all type of approach. She knew my breed of dog was anxious, nervous and had lots of energy. Now I know how to channel it and he seems so much calmer and happier. I also feel much more confident in what I’m doing with him. Ramella is an incredible trainer! She’s extremely kind, detail oriented, and knowledgeable. Her understanding of training dogs of all kinds is unmatched. We adopted a new dog and she was able to give us tactical advice and specific recommendations for things to use to help make our new addition to the family feel right at home! Her professional approach and generosity with her time make her the perfect trainer!

Learning from Ramella has been an absolute game changer in training my puppy (a shiba inu)! If I could give her a 20 star review, I would. She is incredibly knowledgeable about many breeds and how training and communication differs based on the breed and the owner's personalities. She works with you to talk through a variety of scenarios that come up in daily life as well as teaches you the overall psychology of the dog and the relationship with the owner, so you have a good foundational framework as well as practical exercises to incorporate into your routine and daily life. Ramella also suggests a variety of options for training and exercise and engaging with your dog, again, based on the breed, how she sees your dog behaving, and how you interact with your dog. And this was all in just the first session! She is incredibly thorough and meticulous about reviewing information. As a first time dog owner, she helped provide clarity into a chaotic process and structure and tools to move forward in a positive way. I honestly couldn't recommend her more and cannot wait until my next session with her!!
