I had heard about Ridgeside K9 NorCal for years from friends and clients. I own a local steel building company and ended up working with the owners on a large metal building project, which gave me the opportunity to get to know Rich and Jaclyn and learn more about their 3–4 week board-and-train program. At 10 months old and 127 lbs, family walks or outings had become our biggest challenge. We dropped him off just before leaving on vacation, and Kassandra, his trainer, sent weekly photo and video updates along with detailed progress reports. The facility was top-notch and far beyond what I expected. From the moment I walked in and was greeted by the receptionist, every staff member was extremely friendly. Several commented on Rocky in passing, which showed they genuinely knew and cared about the dogs. When we picked him up, he was still our goofy Rocky, but now with a clear understanding of commands and expectations. Walks and family outings are night-and-day better. He now comes to work with me and no longer has to be put in a dog run when clients arrive. I can simply tell him “place,” and he goes to his cot and stays there until released. The same goes for sit or down commands in our front yard, even if I step out of sight for several minutes. It may not sound flashy, but this level of reliability has been far more useful than I ever imagined. If you’re on the fence, do it. The care, structure, and results speak for themselves. Highly recommended.
