Do I need puppy training?

What does our board and train entail?
Training starts immediately upon arrival for a board and train. Dogs will be taught a marker based system of learning. They will be taken out in the community several days a week and during this time they will be required to be neutral to their environment. Throughout training, we will continue to add in distance, duration and distraction to proof all commands and ensure a calm state of mind. We do not believe in one standard training method for all dogs. We will work with owners to build a program to meet the specific needs of their dog and family. We make ourselves available throughout training to answer any questions and alleviate any concerns. We pride ourselves on our transparency and dedication to keeping owners up to date and informed on the progress of training.

We had a great experience with the two week training program. We have a new puppy and unexpectedly needed to go out of town. I was very concerned about leaving him as he was only 4 months old. Riverside K9 was referred to us and I am so thankful that our pup had this experience. He came home better socialized, and responsive to commands. He certainly is trained better than we could have done ourselves. I also knew he was in good hands while we were away as we got daily updates, which we appreciated. I would highly recommend this company.
Cori was wonderful with our German Shepherd Zara. After completing training Zara is perfect on the leash, listens to commands better and less reactive. Thank you all for helping us with our girl!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Cori at Ridgeside K9, in Summerville, SC! My mom had major back surgery, and knowing she would soon be responsible for walking and handling her energetic young Black Lab, we decided to send him to Cori for leash and obedience training. It was one of the best decisions we could have made. From the moment you meet Cori, her positive energy, enthusiasm, and love for dogs are obvious. She was fantastic to work with and kept us informed throughout the training process. When our dog came home, the transformation was incredible. He walked beautifully on a leash, responded well to commands, and was much calmer and more attentive. This was such a blessing for my mom as she recovered from surgery and needed a dog she could safely walk without worrying about being pulled or injured. Now at just seven months old, he is incredibly well-behaved, and we constantly receive compliments on how well-trained he is for such a young dog. What truly confirmed how special Cori is happened when we needed to board him while we were out of town. The moment he saw her, he was overjoyed—tail wagging, licking her face, and showering her with affection. It was clear he not only remembered her, but genuinely loved her. That spoke volumes to us about the care, kindness, and relationship she builds with the dogs she trains. We are beyond grateful for Cori and the difference she has made in our dog’s life. We would recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, caring, and highly effective trainer. 10/10 — absolutely outstanding!

After recently moving to the area, we began having serious issues with aggression between our dogs. We were feeling overwhelmed and didn’t know what to do, so we started searching online for help. After submitting an inquiry, we were contacted right away and reassured that our dogs could be helped. We were paired with Amanda for a board-and-train program for both of our boys, and the experience exceeded our expectations. While we still have some work to do, the progress they have made has been incredible. Bosworth is now able to hold a place command, listen to directions, and respond to commands consistently. Although we’re still working through some aggression issues, we now have the tools and control needed to manage situations safely and confidently. Our home is no longer filled with the chaos and stress we were experiencing before. Walter came into training knowing very little and being fearful of the world around him. He returned much more confident, responsive, and willing to listen. The transformation in his confidence has been amazing to see. One thing that really stood out was Amanda’s communication throughout the entire process. She sent daily updates, kept us informed on their progress, and was always available to answer questions or address concerns. Honestly, without this training, we likely would have had to rehome one of our dogs. Instead, we now have hope, structure, and a much happier household.
