Ridgeside K9 Tidewater

So far I have been having an amazing interaction with this company. I just adopted my dog Copper (he is a Border Collie/ Shepherd mix). I am retiring from the military and going to bring him here for his training to be my service dog. The owner has been extremely patient with me, answering all of my questions. As a new dog mom you can imagine all the questions I have. If you are thinking about working with this company I highly recommend it! I will come back here to update after my pups progress! Edit: Just got my pup back!!! Bryant was my trainer and he kept me updated every single step of the way and answered all of my questions. When learning how to give my dogs commands Bryant was extremely patient. If you are thinking about getting your dog trained here I highly recommend it!! Hello, my dog attended the Ridgeside K9 East Carolina 3 Week onboarding program last fall. They were great, and I was told if I needed any refresher or assistance, I would have it for my dog’s lifetime at no cost. Recently I’ve had issues with reactivity that I cannot figure to rectify on my own, so I reached out to the Tidewater facility and have been for the past month. I have not gotten a solidified time in their schedule yet. It’s very frustrating to be constantly reaching out and not getting anywhere. As if I had to pay more money for my situation to even be taken into consideration. I had ZERO issues with my old trainers in East Carolina, but this facility has fell extremely short on my expectations. I live alone, and am 38 weeks pregnant and I truly need the assistance, I will have to figure out on my own since it’s too hard for their staff to pull up the calendar and schedule us on an exact date.

I can’t say enough good things about Brent and the work he did with my two Rottweilers. I have one male and one female, and before training, I honestly didn’t know if I’d be able to keep them both. During their initial introduction, they got into a serious fight that resulted in me being hospitalized for a month with significant injuries. I had only had my male for about 8 months at the time and after the incident, I tried to rehome him because I didn’t think the situation was fixable. Sending them to Ridgeside's board-and-train program was a last-minute decision, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. In 6 weeks, Brent completely transformed both dogs. What stands out most to me is not just the obedience they gained, but the relationship he helped foster between them. They are two powerful dogs with behavioral challenges, and Brent brought them to a place where they are now calm, structured, and (most importantly) able to live together peacefully. It went from a dangerous situation to peaceful coexistence and even friendship. Beyond the results, the care and effort Brent put into the process made all the difference. The daily updates, detailed training materials, and the supplies he provided showed how invested he truly was—not just in the dogs, but in setting me up for long-term success. He made sure I understood how to maintain everything they learned, which gave me the confidence I desperately needed after everything that happened. Because of Brent, I was able to keep both of my dogs. Today, they live together in harmony, and my home feels safe and balanced again—something I genuinely didn’t think was possible before this program. If you’re dealing with serious behavioral issues or need excellent obedience training, I would trust Brent (and the rest of the Ridgeside trainers I met) without hesitation. What he accomplished with my dogs was nothing short of life-changing.

I cannot speak highly enough about Ridgeside. They went absolutely above and beyond in all aspects of my experience. They were accommodating to my schedule, prompt and clear with communication, and incredibly professional. I brought my dog in with severe reactivity, fear, and a past incident of aggression towards other dogs. Working with Brandt absolutely transformed my dog, giving us both the skills and confidence to work together without fear. Besides just basic obedience, my dog can now manage his anxieties and uncertainty with other dogs and humans. I also received regular updates and tons of cute pictures and videos that made the 4 week board and train away from my dog much more manageable. We had a thorough 5 hour training session with me, my dog, and Brandt at the end of the 4 weeks. Brandt has also remained so helpful in answering my questions since then. I am truly beyond grateful to Brandt and all of Ridgeside for their immense help to me and my dog.

It took me a while to write this review. Midnight is a Cane Corso, my daughter found on the highway. He was a little over one when she brought him home. He Hates, most males. TIFFANY, is the best. The review isn't about her. I would let her handle any dog I have. The owner, rude. I felt like he tormented my dog. To break him, now Im not a dog trainer. So, I dont know what is done. His lip was severely damaged. The owner felt no need to communicate with me. I tried to ask him questions. He was there for my money. Next time, Ill just pay Tiffany. Cut the middle man out. Midnight, is better around certain males now. Because I have imcooperate differnt people in his life. Tiffany has done a great job, he still remembers what he was taught.
