ALEX IS A MIRACLE WORKER!! You guys. I cannot stress to you how amazed we are by Alex's work. We have a constantly barking, very confident, stubborn little dog who refused to be potty trained or crate trained. He'd screech for hours when we tried to crate train him. We have a large timid Golden Doodle who we had no problem training as well. After the training that worked for our golden doodle made no impact on the little one, we sent the little guy to a board and train program where they train police dogs for 8 weeks. He came back more or less the same. After only ONE WEEK of Day Academy at Riverview Bark, he was a different dog!!! Obedient, happy, sweet, and wayyyyy more potty trained and crate trained. After 3 weeks, we are OBSESSED with the dog we thought would kill us. We also sent our golden doodle there for one week and he became less timid! The golden doodle used to bark at the neighbors walking down the hall. Now, he barely does. AND we know how to continue to train him to calm down. The results speak for themselves. We love love love Riverview Bark. It was worth every penny. Highly recommend.

This place is all around great! Alex has gone above and beyond my expectations in dog/human training. I was really at the end of my rope, no pun intended, with my pitty mix Rosie. She’s a rescue that I never properly trained or socialized, subsequently 4 yrs later developed a lot of fearful reactivity. I tried some other local trainers in the past but their methods were either ineffective or discouraging. From the very first evaluation session, Alex gave me hope that Rosie was absolutely trainable and he reminded me that having confidence in my ability to reconnect with my dog would make the biggest impact on her progress. I am thrilled to have found this place and now fully committed in retraining my dog. If you have a dog thats not trained or thinking of getting a dog, do yourself a favor and invest in this place. You wont regret it.

My husband and I were looking for assistance training our doberman rescue puppy, Bitsy, and reached out to Riverview Bark when they first opened to set up personal training sessions. Alex first reached out to us to schedule a free consultation call where we went over our main concerns and goals for Bitsy. With this information, he was able to provide us with some tips and tricks to implement with her before our first in-person meeting. From just that one call, we started to see improvements in Bitsy's behavior and knew that Riverview was the right choice for her training moving forward. At our first in-person meeting to establish Bitsy's baseline, Alex took the time to get to know her personality and behaviors before having us go through the commands that she was already familiar with. He was able to help us identify when Bitsy was truly engaged with us vs. following commands only in exchange for treats (a form of begging), and was able to provide us with new methods to rectify this behavior and improve her basic obedience. Since working with Alex, we have seen significant improvement in both our personal relationships with Bitsy and in her behavior and understanding of commands. We have even seen improvements in the behavior of our older pup, Panini, who was already trained but now has better engagement and response to commands thanks to changes made at Alex's suggestion. We cannot recommend Riverview Bark enough for someone looking for dog training services in Jersey City, and are excited to see all that his business accomplishes as it continues to grow.
