About Ruff Rules
Training is simple, but it’s not easy, and that’s why our mission is to give guidance to owners everywhere using a results driven and balanced approach since 2013. Everything we do begins with foundation training! While introducing your dog to new commands we know the importance of using primarily positive reinforcement to make sure we are creating confidence, focus, motivation and clear communication. Once you have established your new relationship, we use training collars (e-collars) to test our training in any environment. We find value in applying mental and physical exercise to this process to make sure your dog maintains a relaxed state of mind around distractions. We are about working smarter, not harder!

I cannot recommend Ruff Rules highly enough! I was torn between the board and train and the in-home training sessions. I’m so happy I went with the in-home sessions because 1. I got to watch Serena work her magic up-close and 2. I had a ton of hands-on practice with my dog, Riggs, under her guidance. On days where I couldn’t step away from work, Serena worked with him 1:1 and took videos, pictures, and downloaded with me afterwards. I was worried he would be too old to learn proper obedience at 6, but Ruff Rules can absolutely teach old dogs new tricks! Serena made our world a lot larger because I can now safely take Riggs with me anywhere!

My dog Tater recently trained with Eva. I rescued Tater as a puppy. Though he was sweet with me and a select few, he was timid and suspicious of new people growling barking and separation anxiety. Since his time with Eva, Tater is confident in all different environments and displays much less separation anxiety. His listening skills are impeccable which has assisted in his improved ability to meet new people! I am so proud of Tater and know his time with Eva was invaluable to his growth as a pup! He is happier, self-assured, and well mannered. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a trainer who can bring out the best in their dogs. I can’t thank Eva enough for her patient work with Tater!

This is about as 5/5 experience as they come. We were recommended to ruff rules by about 3 different friends who raved about it so we decided to try it out. We put our 8 month old mini bernadoodle in the board & train with Eva and we were actually blown away. Eva’s communication from day 1 was impeccable. She sent us 3-4 thorough videos every day that really helped us see the progression. Our puppy wasn’t necessarily a bad behaved puppy but he didn’t listen to commands, pulled when we would walk, and most things puppies do. In 2.5 weeks our little guy is THE best behaved dog. He knows all commands, waits for approval / release words, and still kept his loving personality. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to train their dog!!
