is there any cheaper trainer? 1000 is rediculous.
You wanting to send your dog to them, or is this for you and the dog as a team? Either way good training from an extremely good reputable trainer isn't cheap. There's a big difference between going to Petsmart for dog training and going to a professional. That is not an unreasonable amount for a professional.

We took our border collie/aussie to Ken for a two wk training. She is very friendly and was pulling me over on her leash to get to people and other dogs. She was really distracted and didn’t listen well. When we picked her up after 2 wks she was literally a different dog. He talked to us about what we needed to do to follow through when we returned home. Ken is not much for words but he is really in tune with dogs. Winnie really bonded with him and I could tell he really did with her also. We are so pleased and happy and would never hesitate to use him again if needed and highly recommend him to others!
Came highly recommended, from the first one on one visit which lasted a whole 15 minutes. Just long enough to sign a paper and collect your money. Some lady made a racist remark and they just played it off like they were referring to speaking dog language. I'm not stupid or naive. I know a racist remark when I here one. Especially when they're looking right at you when they say it. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!!
Ken Schilling was a huge help with our puppy. Understanding what to do and, more importantly, what not to do was a huge help in getting behavior we wanted in our dog. He had simple, easy suggestions we were able to implement right away.
