Sequoyah K9 Academy

We cannot say enough about the excellent training experience that our 16 week old female Sequoyah puppy had at the three week Board and Train program. Howard Johnson was absolutely the best trainer we have ever worked with, and we have owned five German Shepherds over 30 years. His patience and love for the dogs combined with his highly effective training program taught our girl all of the basic commands which she is now able to execute at home. Furthermore she was exposed to many different environments including trips to Lowe's where she was able to confidently navigate climbing through flat carts. We hope to do some search and rescue training with her in the future so this was a great introduction. She also worked on hide and seek. The best was that we are now able to more easily direct her when she inevitably gets bitey or jumps. It was obvious how much she bonded to Howard and he has generously offered to be available with any questions we have. We will definitely return for more advanced training and boarding in the future. We unequivocally recommend Sequoyah K9 academy for your treasured family member. Best investment we have ever spent on our Shepherds. Also if you are looking for a quality GSD, Sequoyah is the place to go, even if you have to travel a distance.

It was the best decision I’ve made taking my 1 1/2 year old German shepherd, Bruce, to the Sequoyah K9 Academy. He took part in their 6 week board and train program with Howard as the trainer. I was given update on his progress and was absolutely delighted with each one. Howard did an amazing job with training Bruce. I highly recommend them as a place to send your dogs for training. When I dropped Bruce off he had obedience issues due to how stubborn he was and willfully ignored when trying to wrangle him in. The 6 weeks Howard spent training him was immediately noticeable! Bruce had confidence I had never seen before and was focused on the commands he instantly obeyed. Howard walked me through the commands and we took him to the store and I was brought to tears how well Bruce did. The price you pay is well worth the outcome. They are all about the success of the dogs and you can tell they care. I highly recommend them and will use them again myself if and when I get another dog.

Sequoyah K9 training is the perfect place to bring your pup/dog! I’ve been taking my 4 month old golden retriever there for private puppy classes, and Howard is nothing short of amazing. He uses simple explanations and instructions to teach you how to train your puppy at home, and he makes it fun. He has helped my puppy work through her fears of other dogs and other environment factors all while making it look so easy. I highly recommend Howard and Sequoyah K9 Training for any of your dog’s needs! We are so grateful we found them! 😊
