Howard at Sequoia K9 Training is amazing! You can really tell how much he loves what he does. Our German Shepherd puppy completed the 3-week puppy program, and the results were incredible. Howard took so much time with us and even helped our four kids learn the training techniques so we could all stay consistent at home. He was patient, professional, and his communication went above and beyond. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend Howard and Sequoia K9 Training to anyone looking for a trainer who truly cares!

Amazing! Our 2yr old Golden was a sweetheart but was impossible to control when he would get excited or see other dogs. It was a safety concern for little kids and older people who would visit us, and we stopped walking him because he was so obnoxious on a leash (which of course only made him more feisty because he wasn't getting enough exercise.) A friend recommended Sequoyah K9 Academy, and while it was not inexpensive, it seemed like a good investment so we gave it a shot. We got weekly updates and got to see him socializing and learning a lot. The team communicated well and tended well to his diet and health. When we came to pick up day we could hardly believe what we were seeing. Our "85lb puppy" was attentive, walking nicely on a leash, staying put when told to, and could walk past other barking dogs without a care. Coming into this I was a little worried it would affect his normal personality, like we'd have to treat him like a solider all the time or we'd lose the fun family pet we loved, but that's not the case at all. He's still his same goofy sweet self, and he loves treats and playing and pets just like always, but he'd just learned a ton of impulse control and ability to act appropriately. Ultimately it makes him happier because now he gets to socialize a lot more and we gladly take him on walks again. There is a lot to learn on pick-up day about how to reinforce what he's learned, and it does take some effort back at home to teach him that the rules still apply here too, but those have mostly amounted to minor corrections and reinforcement. Thank you K9 Academy team, and a special thanks to Howard who was amazing with our dog, took good care of him, and was happy to take plenty of time working with us on pick-up day. We'll be back for boarding and brush-up lessons, and would highly recommend their training to anyone who loves their dog but needs it to behave better as a part of the family.
