Shadyrock School For Dogs

If you are looking for a dog training school this is not the place! I was left traumatized. The owner needs to take some etiquette classes. Very unprofessional,rude and nasty lady. I couldn't finish the 5 weeks due to the toxic energy from that trainer. She did not stay on task with assignments and talked too much about her personal life. She treated my dog and I with the most disgusting disrespect, no compassion for others. I was so excited to take my dog to a training school only to walk out on the 3rd week. Very disappointing.

I was very hopeful when I took my puppy willow to be trained. During the first class the trainer called her a brat several times in front of the class making me feel like an awful dog owner. She then proceeded to yank her up by a choke collar causing my dog to bite the trainer causing the trainer to bleed and initially I felt bad but after I thought about it my dog was responding to being yanked up by a collar that hurt her and she had the appropriate response to being treated that way. The second class I went with out willow and as I was watching the other dogs train she pushed on a puppies butt hard enough he cried twice then he bit her also. I understand this trainer has been doing this for so many years but to some people she may be to rough and she had definite moments when she was very unkind in how she spoke to the people and no one should ever feel bad about how their dog by their puppy being called a brat several times. So needless to say I stopped taking willow and have been training her ever since on my own. I'm not trying to disparage this company this is strictly my opinion and how I feel, where it maybe a place for some dogs and has been successful it was not the right fit for me or my dog. Like really calling a dog names is not very mature and helpful.

We finished our last class today with Benelli our GS. He did great. Linda is a great teacher/coach. Dog training is all about what the owner wants to put into it. Linda can be tough we saw that, but do the homework, put the time in, TRAIN YOUR DOG, and the class is so much easier. Linda is there to correct your style and bad habits, your not going to get that watching YouTube videos. She's there to drive the lesson into your brain so you do it correctly and continue to do it correctlt and do it safely. If you can't take constructive criticism then maybe pet training with a trainer isn't for you. Our 5 month old GS did great and we're happy we did this training. He heels, sits and stays, and lays on command. Sure we have to keep up with the training, but the basics are there and he knows it. Thanks Linda for the help and knowledge!

I’ve been training my dog, Durango, with Linda for about four months. I brought in Durango when he was just about six months old, with a lot of energy and not listening very well. In that time, I am now able to walk him in public, take him in stores (that allow dogs), and talk with my neighbors without him jumping all over them. The results you’ll see from your dog is from the work you do with them. Linda helps you understand what you, as the owner, need to do. Don’t show up thinking that she’s going to do it for you. I met some great owners there as well, who were more than willing to give me advice on what I was doing wrong and how to correct things once I left. I recommend Linda and her team for anyone wanting to better understand how to train your dog.
