Sit Means Sit Dog Training

Took our 14 week puppy for a specific area in training. She already knew the basics " potty trained, sit, come, down, spot. We informed Beth over the phone our concern was for boundaries and distraction. We signed up for 3 private lessons ($425.00). All the information and discussion was done over the phone. She took my credit card over the phone the morning of our first lesson. At the start of the lesson the young lady doing the training didn't like our harness and suggested we purchase a better training collar ($25). She put it on and we had the first lesson. It was one large room with two trainers dogs there, very well behaved, but other dogs in crates barking, one dog being groomed and a considerable amount of noise. This young lady spoke so softly it was hard to hear her. She quickly realized our pup knew most of the basics and we explained she doesn't do well on a first learn in a distracted situation. She showed us how to enter/exit a door and gave us a homework, all for 50mins. That night our pup got her jaw caught in a loop hanging from this collar and later her leg. We could not get the collar off. We realized there was an issue and took her back to the facility the next morning and told them about the collar. Come to find out the collar was put on completely wrong and had to be cut off. We realized this was not the establishment or training we wanted for our dog. We said we would pay the price for the first lesson but did not wish to continue, ( before the 72 hour deadline) . They said they do not give refunds....but would give us a partial one.. so it cost us $240 for one lesson (50mins). My opinion would be to avoid this franchise business and find a good individual trainer. Our mistake was thinking they were.
