Sit Means Sit Dog Training

If I could give more stars, I would! My fiancé and I have the sweetest but craziest Siberian husky, Ghost. He is literally the world to me. You can try to tell him he’s a pup all you want, but that’s my child and he knows it. That being said, he also does what he wants when he wants. I mean, he is a husky after all. Sit Means Sit said, “Nope, not if I can help it!” After the first day, we already noticed significant changes in our sweet boy! Instead of the usual prance with us trying to catch up, Ghosty poo was looking up to us on walks for direction! Week by week, he got better and better! He is already such a smart boy but with the right guidance and support system, there’s nothing he can’t do! We started out with an end goal of being able to show our boy the world. Knowing he needed to learn some manners and how to act in public, we figured it would take awhile. Sit Means Sit and Hayley showed us that wasn’t true. The transformation in our boy is unreal and it wouldn’t have happened without them! I can’t thank y’all enough! Whatever your needs may be with your furry little baby, run, don’t walk, to Sit Means Sit! They are a group of people who care about you, your baby, and your needs. They always will tell you the best thing to do, but most importantly, they are with you every step of the way! I would love to brag on Ghost’s girlfriend, Hayley, more on this post, but honestly, I don’t want you all to request her and she get too busy for Ghost! 😂😂 Seriously though, she is the reason for our great experience. She first worked to gain Ghost’s trust and was amazing with him, but she also respected my wishes, made sure I was comfortable, and addressed all concerns. We are so lucky to have her through our journey and I will be forever grateful for her! Sorry for the book, but our puppies deserve people that we can trust, and I am confident in saying those people are at Sit Means Sit!

Sit Means Sit has been amazing for our pup! When we first got our puppy, she was a rescue who was found at 3wks old without a mom. She came to us scared, timid, anxious, wouldn't walk outside and scared of people and other dogs. We started training with Sit Means Sit shortly after we rescued her. The difference in the dog she was to the dog she is now has been astounding! She is working on being a confident, well-trained, lovable dog who walks everyday, listens to commands and is starting to be more social. All of the trainers were so great, especially Teresa and Hayley. They had the patience and persistence to not only work with our dog, but work with us as owners. Being consistent at home is key to success. We just finished day training and looking forward to adult group classes. Our pup still has work to do, but she is on the road to doing great things! This is probably a great program for someone in a neighborhood that has to leash walk their dog. I, however, have country dogs that I allow to run loose when I take them down my rural road 2 or 3 times a day which I was crystal clear about when the owner, Alex, interviewed my husband and I and the dogs. What we needed help with was recall when they ran out with the cows and donkeys or after wildlife and to stay within range when hiking on trails. I also had to fill out lengthy assessments that reiterated this..which obviously were never read. What I got for $2300 instead was 2 full days of learning to walk on leashes and with prong collars (which we paid for to be used twice) on a dirt road with woods on both sides the leashes habitually got hung up in and we only advanced to the e-collar on session 2 instead of 3 (we were told after the interview we only needed to sign up for 3 sessions plus a private lesson on a 4th day to see how they did in their own environment) because I voiced my displeasure. What I THOUGHT the plan was was to put them in e-collars from the beginning and teach us how to work with those to get the responses we needed. When I declined to bring the dogs back for their 3rd session today, Alex called and said it's a progressive process from leash to prong collars to e-collars...but I sincerely doubt the millions of people that have bought these kinds of collars-- including hunters--went through this process. "Miraculously" after just a few days in the e-collars (no prongs, no leashes), we're getting recall 100% of the time with one dog and 90% with the other. Sure wish we hadn't spent all that money for a program that was misrepresented and who's owner can't do any better than say he was sorry and will be available if we need anymore help down the road.
