Sit Means Sit Dog Training - Western Chicago

We worked with Kerry after rehoming our dog Gryff in January when he was 5 months old. At the time, Gryff was struggling with resource guarding and was nipping at our other dog, Harry, which made it difficult for them to be together safely. It also was causing a lot of stress on our other dog. Since Harry had already successfully went through training with Kerry, I did not hesitate to reach out to her immediately. Kerry was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and supportive throughout the process. She helped us understand Gryff’s behavior and how to be proactive in training him. When she dropped him off she ensured both my partner and I knew how to handle various scenarios and how to support Gryff in calming down. It helped that she ensured both my partner and I had the tools to support Gryff so we could both be consistent. Gryff is now much more relaxed and comfortable. He can be in the same room as Harry peacefully, something that wasn’t possible before. (See cute pictures of them near one another 🥹) Kerry also boarded Gryff for two weeks at a VERY reasonable price. We originally planned for one week, but Kerry’s experience and expertise made a very good call to keep him an extra week. We felt very confident he was in great hands. We’ve seen such a positive change in Gryff’s confidence and ability to settle, and we feel much more confident as owners as well. We’re very grateful for Kerry’s help and would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for a dog trainer. Kerry is very personable, very caring and very knowledgeable. Kerry is someone I truly trust. I’ve had two dogs successfully train with her. Her guidance has made a lasting difference for our dogs and our household. We are furrr- ever grateful!

Our dog Teddy did a Board and Train program with Kerry and the results have been amazing. He was constantly roaming around the house looking to get into trouble, eating various objects like socks, gloves, and toys, and having a hard time just relaxing. He was only able to be in 1 room of the house, and our daily routines were interrupted by having to constantly follow him around to make sure he wasn’t getting into trouble or eating something that was dangerous. We were at our wits end when we reached out to Sit Means Sit. Kerry was empathetic and very easy to talk to. Since Teddy has come back home, the change has been so dramatic. The stress level in the house has significantly decreased and we are finally able to enjoy our family dog. Kerry does amazing work with dogs but has also done a great job training and coaching us humans 😊
