Sit Means Sit - Massachusetts

We rescued Maxx on November 2, 2024. He was rescued from the Island of St. Croix and sent to Schultz’ Guesthouse in Dedham MA where we met this handsome boy that stole our hearts. Maxx was your typical puppy with many bad habits that required professional training. After some research we found Dave from Sit means Sit located in Easton MA. Dave became our hero. In a few short weeks Maxx went from a boy that was completely uncontrollable to an extremely obedient walker. Dave was extremely responsive to text and phone calls when our patience was running thin or a simple question had to be answered. His training techniques were easy to comprehend which made it very easy to continue at home. After the third session we were very comfortable with the fact we knew that Dave would be available if there is any further instruction needed. There is more work to be done but the progress he has made is terrific with Dave’s guidance.We may finally have the camping and hiking partner we always wanted. Thank you Dave for your guidance. We will continue to use the techniques we learned from you and will keep you updated on all of his adventures throughout the camping season and will be contacting you for further advanced instruction. My experience with Dave at Sit Means Sit was so positive! I’ve had a rescue hound for over two years, and have struggled with behavioral issues - aggression, shyness, constant barking and not being able to bring him out of the house willingly. Since my sessions with Dave, Heinz is still the same shy dog but his confidence has grown, and I am able to take him on short walks with me. He jumps into the car now without encouragement or me picking him up! There are some things that won’t change with him, but with training, my confidence has also grown and I feel like I am better equipped to handle a dog with behavioral issues. Dave gave me techniques and tools to make sure Heinz and I are both in safe situations with each other and in public spaces with other people. We recently got a new puppy, Annie..and training her felt almost impossible as she wasn’t treat/ food motivated, which made traditional training methods challenging. ..From our very first session with Sit Means Sit, everything changed. Not only did Dave provide the tools and guidance we needed, but they also gave us the confidence to train our pup effectively. At just six months old, the progress she’s made has far exceeded anything I ever expected. She’s more focused, better behaved, and we’ve built an incredible bond. Dave has achieved amazing results with our mini Bernadoodle, Buddy. The first day he sent us pictures of Buddy in various situations and I accused him of sending me pictures of a stuffed animal-I just couldn’t believe Buddy’s self control. It has been so impressive to see the behavior changes in just 3 visits! Buddy is a high energy, high intelligence, highly reactive dog who now knows how to control his behavior and listens to commands. I can see his confidence and calmness growing as he learns what is expected of him. The training process is not just for the dogs. It is for the owners too. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with my puppy and watch him turn into the wonderful dog I know he will be. PS: this is the second dog that Dave has trained for me!

We are so thankful for Dave and the Sit Means Sit team! We were having some health/behavior challenges with our 6 month old puppy and Laurie fit us in on such short notice for an hour training. A few weeks later our puppy completed the entire day training with Dave and we saw instant, positive changes. Dave had a solution to every single problem we had from behavior, walking on a leash, to even giving our pup eye drops! He is so knowledgeable and is clearly very passionate about what he does and making sure the owner is comfortable with the results. He is super responsive and helps us anytime we reach out.
