We've trained three dogs with Dave at Sit Means Sit, and the results have been amazing every time. Most recently, he worked with our 1-year-old German Shepherd, and the transformation has been incredible. Dave is knowledgeable, patient, and truly cares about helping both dogs and their owners succeed. Our dogs are happier, more confident, and well-behaved thanks to his guidance. Highly recommend! We had our 1.5 year old Golden here back in 2022 and Sit Means Sit helped us so much with her impulse control, listening, and pulling using the e-collar. We noticed a regression with her recently where she would be resource guarding, not listen, and snap at other dogs. We took her back for a refresher class with Dave who helped tighten up our skills with the e-collar and our golden was immediately responsive to it. We love sit means sit and recommend it to every one who feels like their dog could use some guidance! Worth every penny.

We had a fantastic experience working with Dave at Sit Means Sit to train our 6-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP), Mabel. Dave trained my sister’s Vizla and her dog is extremely well behaved so when we bought our GSP, I knew Dave would be great for us too. Dave demonstrated a clear understanding of the specific needs and characteristics of GSPs. Within a few sessions, Mabel’s recall and behavior improved dramatically. She now walks nicely right by my side and follows my commands: sit, place, come, and go play. She also walks by our side off leash around our neighborhood! He explained the reasoning behind each exercise and provided us with the tools and knowledge to continue reinforcing the training at home. We appreciated his willingness to answer our questions and provide ongoing support. We highly recommend Dave at Sit Means Sit.

I cannot recommend Dave more highly. He is a unique trainer - able to intuit our dog's needs, effectively teach our dog gently and yet with a consistent and patient hand, and communicate to our family the skills needed to maintain training. Throughout the process, Dave went above and beyond not only with the training itself - but making himself available at any time to answer all of our questions and concerns. We are so lucky to have been able to learn from him, as Dave has taught us a new way to communicate with our dog. As this was the second dog that we added to our family, training before Dave had been stressful. Dave made it incredibly straightforward in a remarkably short period of time.
