Sky Soldier Dog Training

Doug and I brought our 6mos Gordon Setter Tess to Brandon @ Sky Soldier Dog Training to work on basics over a 2 week period. What a joy it is walking w/Tess since she’s been home w/us, she’s so willing to learn, eager as long as we are on board and continue working her. I am a first time pet owner, still in college and decided to bring Finn, my 4 month old Giant Schnauzer puppy to Sky Solider Dog training. I was looking for basic obedience training like puppy biting/chewing, sit, down, heel, walking on a leash, recall ex. I got this and so much more, Brandon was amazing to work with. As Finn got older and bigger he felt like he was getting to be more than I could control, always had lots of energy, hard to calm down and was not responding well to discipline. I didn't know where to start with him and I didn't want this to be an on going pattern as he grew even bigger. From the very few first minutes working with Brandon I was able to see the respect Finn was very capable of giving. Brandon showed me how to get the same respect out of Finn and very quickly turned him into a much more calm and obedient dog. Brandon also taught me about the important vaccines, which ones to avoid, and the right time to nuder. All this information helped me ensure the health and wellbeing of my dog and was much more than anything I could have read up on. My dog training and just overall dog experience would have looked a lot different without Brandon and I am very thankful for all his help. I highly recommend!!

I stumbled across Sky Soldier Dog training when seeking a trainer that had more structure to help with my energetic pitty mix. My dog is pretty smart, stubborn, strong, and dramatic which led me feeling defeated with other trainings. Brandon worked with us to find the right pressures that worked best for her. This looks different for all of our dogs as we also have two others that we’ve been able to apply his trainings too. After 5 weeks, she’s been molded into much better dog that respects and listens to me more. The training doesn’t stop here as we have a lot of work to do to reinforce what we’ve learned. But she’s done a complete 180 from the dog we walked in with at the beginning. I’m thankful for Brandon’s guidance and bluntness in how to work with our dogs, our home had been much more calm. Would definitely recommend this place if you have a “problem child” you are feeling defeated with.

This may be a longer read, but stay with me..... I did a lot of research into dogs, dog breeds, and training before getting a puppy. Ultimately, my goal is to have a wonderfully trained service dog. I knew for me working with a trainer instead of train and board was the way that I wanted to go. I settled on a bernedoodle as the breed and found my pup (Teddy). I then reached out to a trainer I had spoken with in the past prior to bringing home Teddy. After being spoken down to, set up appointments being missed and no call no shows, I researched again on trainers, and I found Sky Solider. I now had Teddy home at 8 weeks, and we met for our consultation. I was very pleased with the owners no-nonsense straight shooter personality. I have to say as a side note he not only reads the dogs' personalities and needs, but he pretty much knew exactly what I was going to need encouragement on by the end of the first meeting. This was and is important because what you do and feel will affect your training, I'm thankful he saw what I felt and needed so I could be more successful in training Teddy. We began training once a week for an hour. Each time, I was shown how to do a new core action that would help make Teddy and my life easier. I was sent home with the information we learned and told how to practice these things throughout the week. By the end of our final session, Teddy and I have the tools and confidence to keep training on our own with these core goals. Teddy knows how to do the things being asked of him, and now we will focus on mastering those skills before we come back to train and or test for service work. I feel confident in my ability to correct and lead Teddy in a way that is peaceful and fun instead of stressed and unsure. I also want to mention that while I was attending training, Brandon had board and train dogs at the building, and they were so quiet and well-behaved, it was easy to see they were being very well cared for and loved. I highly recommend Sky Solider Dog Training. This isn't a cookie cutter experience. This is one on one training tailored to your dogs specific needs. Whether you want a better behaved family dog, have an aggressive dog, are looking to train a service dog, or want your puppy to get the best start, Brandon is the guy. His knowledge is extensive, and he truly does have your dog and your best interest at heart. It's easy to tell dog training for Brandon is a passion, not just a job.

We had an excellent experience working with Brandon at Sky Soldier Dog Training! His no-nonsense approach and deep understanding of dogs were exactly what we needed to help our 5-month-old Bernedoodle puppy, Winnie, learn how to fit in with our lifestyle. We enrolled in the 5-week program, attending weekly sessions at his studio. Each visit was well-structured and focused, and Brandon provided clear guidance and actionable steps for us to work on at home. He not only helped Winnie but also empowered us as owners to feel confident in reinforcing her learning, which is such a huge part of training a puppy.
