William had our 1year old English Lab (Gunner) for two months...... Gunner had hit his terrible teens and was staring to develop obedience issues, chasing cars, just getting overly excited, and not wanting to walk on a leash ect. While spending time with William, he has transformed Gunner into a well behaved family dog and while not part of the deal, Gunner now sits and wait to be released to retrieve bumpers in just two short months... Gunner has been home a few months now, and has been an amazing family dog, he now goes on leash free walks with my wife and kids, he is allowed to free roam our community pond and still be a dog while knowing when he is called he returns immediately. The time we ( my entire family wife and kids) have spent with William see the dedication and sheer enjoyment puts into his work. After the initial time and effort william put into Gunners training after his return home and the completion there is no doubt of the time and dedication and passion William has built around Slater Kennels. My experience with William training our Chocolate Labrador “Tank” into a gun dog has been top notch from the beginning. It first started with boarding Tank when I first inquired about gun dog training. William was thorough about the process and expectations. He first trained Tank on basic commands to be a well trained family dog. I noticed a big difference when we would go on walks not pulling the leash and staying on my side. Tanks demand barking is non existent, which was huge problem. So I knew William’s gun dog training with Tank would be a great experience. We always received milestone updates and training updates as to what Tank was learning. I can’t wait to take Tank on his first hunt. I will definitely be sending Tank back for a refresher and to grow his hunting skills with William.

We had an excellent experience with William. Our 9-month-old English Springer Spaniel needed a lot of help! She didn’t listen at all before spending 7 weeks with William. Now she sits, stays, and goes to her “place” when told. She’s also much improved when walking on a leash. We were going out of town so left her with William for an additional 3 weeks (so 10 weeks total). William is gifted with dogs and kept us updated on how things were going. It was also very helpful that he lives closer in to central Houston. Highly recommend William!
