Smart Dogs Training Academy

So I grew up outside of LA where I only saw dogs in peoples backyards... Fast forward to now living with two dogs who both came from previous bad homes so they were very scared, sheltered and isolated. We decided to take the smaller dog to Jeff because she was the most annoying; literally barking at anything with a pulse. She constanley begged for table food, would run thru the house like a mad lady and was just a spoiled handful. After 6 weeks she came back a TOTALLLLLLY different dog! I can take her out of the house now and she can live amoungst other people with out barking. She understands commands now and its just a better dog to be around now. So of we wanted to take our second dog bc even though he was a outside dog we wanted to change that and bring him in so he wouldnt spend the rest of his life isolated on the side of the house. So same thing... 6 weeks later our Pit came back TOTALLY DIFFERENT and can live in harmony with the other dog and hasnt seen the side of the house since. THANK YOU JEFF!! Im not sure how you do it but you're GREAT AT DOING WHAT YOU DO!

Jeff has trained our three Labradoodles - family pets over the past 10 or so years. Our experience has been great. He has worked closely with me and my husband, even the kids to help all of us learn how to take care of the dogs so they can be part of our family. He has even boarded the dogs for me when we travel. I have sent many friends to him and they have all been happy with Jeff. I highly recommend him

Jeff was recommended by a friend who swore by him. He started working with my labradoodle, Noodle, when he was several months old. He took the time to come to the house to see how I was doing things, then I sent Noodle to him for a month of "boot camp." (You don't have to do it this way, but I thought I'd give it a try.) I got back an amazing dog who still had his puppy spirit. Over the last couple years, I've taken Noodle to him for boarding -- a bonus option only avail. for those who do training with him. Much more reasonable than another other boarding situation and he already knows my dog so well. While there, Jeff continues to work with my dog instead of just boarding and feeding him. He's taken him to the park with other dogs he's working with and reaffirms commands and leash training. Noodle always comes back better. And I know that my dog is happy to see Jeff. Even though Jeff is firm in his training techniques, he's not unfair and he doesn't mistreat. I know this because unlike when I take Noodle to the vet or to the groomer, he doesn't get nervous and sheepish. He's always happy and wagging when he sees Jeff. What better and clearer sign do I need than that?! Many of us love our dogs so much that we can't handle seeing them treated with a firm hand. And I see a couple negative reviews here that reflect that. I'm admittedly guilty about spoiling my dog shamelessly and regularly. But I am also able to see things objectively and know that my way isn't always the best way. I've had other dogs with other training methods, and it took a whole lot longer and I spent more money. All I know is the great results I've gotten, and a dog who still loves to see Jeff. I'd recommend him to anybody!

I believe Jeff should rename his academy Smart People instead of Smart Dogs . Jeff has helped me understand that with the tools he has taught our puppy and us, and our commitment to consistency there is no reason we cant have a happy and well behaved dog. Jeff is smart and practical and explains things in a very clear way. Its really about our consistency and our smarts that keeps Tanner going in the right direction Jeff is very good at training and seems to have an astute handle on dog psychology. I trust him and I like his approach. Tanner our puppy is well on his way to a becoming a dog who pays real attention.
