I have two rescue pitties and they both attend obedience classes with Julie, at different skill levels. Julie has done an amazing job with my pups. Our latest rescue was afraid of everything and Julie has worked with us to get him to be more confident. We also take them to bootcamp once or twice a week which has also benefitted my pups so much. I would recommend Smarty Paws to all pet parents and Julie as a trainer is just amazing.

I signed up our pup into KinderPup and obedience classes and was lucky enough to have Julie as our trainer. Each class was a 6 week long session and had roughly 6-8 people in the groups, which gave everyone a chance to discuss their wants and needs out of the classes/sessions. Julie is so bright and kind, she is very knowledgeable and understands dog behaviors and is able to clearly explain the reasoning behind each lesson and the importance of consistency. Julie's classes are fun, interactive and full of education for you and your pup. I have personally enjoyed meeting new dog friendly people who share the same goals and love for their dogs and the environment at Smarty Paws nurtured the friendly communication and class/team motivation during training. My pup and myself have made new friends here! She loves to attend boot camp where she can play, be a dog, play with other dogs in her age group AND be one on one trained by the trainers while we are at work or have to attend an event. I believe everyone that works here truly has a passion for their job and it shows, my pup comes home happy and tired from all the play, attention and work she gets to do during the boot camp program. I would absolutely recommend a class to anyone interested in getting help on training your dog. I'm looking forward to continuing her training and my education here, we hope to achieve Good Citizen Canine status!

The dog whisper who? Before the end of the first class, Julie was guiding us on how to get the best out of our Sofie. I can't say enough positive things about how well Julie has been able to train Sofie's humans. She has shown patience when necessary and been tough when it's important. We feel so incredibly fortunate to have fallen into her hands. We share her guidance with family and friends, and it's made them think we know what we are talking about. If you're looking for THE BEST dog trainer in Vegas you're looking for Julie at Smarty Paws. We could go on and on.

We can’t say enough good things about Smarty Paws! Last December I adopted a Belgian Malinois puppy and suffice to say, she was WILD! We initially tried another training facility where we didn’t have much success. They were very stuck on all the stereotypes of this breed and told me that among other things she would never be good with other dogs. After a couple months of this nonsense, we finally found Smarty Paws and more specifically our favorite trainer Johnna. Johnna understands the breed and did not come in with any preconceived notions or biases. We did a series of private lessons and twice weekly bootcamp to begin with. In addition, we have taken Johnna’s Outdoor Adventures class several times which will teach your dog how to behave in public settings. My dog LOVES Johnna (I think even more than she loves me!). She is excited to go to camp and excited every time she sees her. Because of this I know she is having fun and being treated well. Johnna has trained her to have wonderful manners and has helped her learn several tricks as well- all without breaking her spirit. The other trainer was all about sticking to rules and was a bit harsh with her (because she’s a Malinois and “needed” extra structure according to him). In contrast, she gets plenty of structure at Smarty Paws but also has a ton of fun and gets to play! My dog LOVES to play with other pups and has never had any issue on that front like the other trainer had predicted. I’m SO glad that I didn’t listen to them. Marlowe is a completely different dog than she was a year ago. She continues to impress me with the new skills that she learns at bootcamp (which she still attends 2x a week). She recently even earned her AKC title of Trick Dog Novice! Never in a million years would I have thought that was possible. All of the trainers at this facility are knowledgeable and I always feel safe and comfortable leaving my girl in their care.
