I have only had small dogs, but we ended up with our neighbor’s Doberman. We had no idea how to train a big dog, especially with the dog being a Doberman, (to be fair, we were quite terrible at training our little dogs as well) and were not sure we could keep him. Luckily, my brother-in-law, who ended up with my neighbor’s Great Dane, found Toby. My brother-in-law wanted to give these dogs the best chance at integrating into our families since we have never had these breeds. I wasn’t sure I was able to train a dog since I failed quite miserably at training my little dogs, but enter Toby. From the very first session, Charlie learned essential commands and after our fourth session, we had the confidence that we would be able to keep him and to continue to work with him. Now, we have a loving, wonderful new member of our family. Toby was always very patient and kind, not only with Charlie, but also with us. He always listened to our concerns and addressed them all. We always received emailed recaps of the sessions in case we forgot anything and can easily reference the emails. His training style never made us uncomfortable and the way it was all laid out made sense. Should we need dog training again, we would not hesitate to work with Toby again.

Working with Toby has truly been a life-changing experience for both me and my dog, Oso. After Oso was attacked at just 3 months old, he became very anxious and fearful around other dogs. When Toby first met him, Oso was already a 95 lb, 8-month-old Rottweiler—but despite his size, he was incredibly nervous. What stood out right away was how quickly Oso took to Toby. There was an immediate sense of trust and calmness that gave me so much reassurance from the start. Before working with Toby, Oso would try to avoid any interaction with other dogs, and I was extremely nervous about putting him in those situations. Toby not only helped Oso rebuild his confidence, but he also taught me how to lead him with calmness and confidence. His guidance gave me the tools I needed to better understand Oso and support him through his fears. Step by step, Toby created a safe and structured environment for Oso. Thanks to Toby, Oso has completely transformed. He now approaches other dogs with a wagging tail and a sense of ease that I never thought possible. Watching that change has been incredibly rewarding. Oso is now a happy, confident dog, and I truly credit Toby for helping us get there. I can’t recommend him enough, not only will he care for your dog as much as you do but he provides so much support and guidance. I'm so grateful to Toby!

Toby was amazing to work with and made a huge difference with my 8-month-old pug-terrier mix. My dog was very reactive, and Toby helped tremendously with leash training, nipping/biting, and building strong recall skills. He’s patient, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable, and he makes the process feel manageable. I especially appreciated that he works with you in your dog’s everyday environment, which really helped everything stick.
