We had a wonderful experience with K9 Consulting after rescuing a young Great Dane with some fear based behaviors. Within a few sessions, Toby had our pup following commands that helped to mitigate the behaviors, like constant barking, even at family members. He also guided us really well to become the steady leaders for the dog, which was really critical with such a large breed dog, considering that we have 5 small kids. He focuses on practical solutions and is willing to adapt them for the dog and for the family. We felt like he offered a number of different options based on the dogs needs, our comfort level and what our ultimate goal was. He is prepared, thorough, and explained things well with incredible resources provided after each lesson. We will be continuing to work with him as our dog grows, and he will be our first call if we ever get a new dog!

Toby was so helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. We achieved our goal Earlyof dealing with pearls reactivity to other dogs. She was an excellent student and had an excellent teacher. She is much more calm now on our walks when she sees other dogs.

Toby was a pleasure to work with training my mini dachshund to be a lil mini service dog. I worried it would be too complicated to train my own service dog but Toby took care of all the details, had a whole curriculum with helpful recap sheets, and answered every question I had. After finishing his service dog training academy, his methods work! Best of all, koko-bean adores her new friend Toby!

From the first session, Toby met us in our home and showed me exactly how to setup my little guy's playpen, crate, and overall living situation. The one-on-one sessions were so invaluable, and after only a few short lessons my little guy was quickly picking up on new commands and behavior modifications. Even more invaluable was Toby's check-ins with us between each of our sessions, as well as replying with the most thoughtful, timely responses whenever I had questions or concerns.
I'm sure I'll be working with Toby in the future as my puppy matures and we can work on more advanced lessons, but for now I can say I am so so grateful to have had Toby help guide me during this overwhelming time!!!!

I started to train my dog with Toby a couple of months ago, originally signed up for a small 5 session course and then kept coming back because of how good he is with pets and the results I saw were instant. I have a very large dog and wanted to make sure I have confidence handling a 150 lb Great Dane. A couple of month later we finished getting my dog a full service dog training. Toby is amazing to work with, my dog loved his training sessions and I learned a lot along the way. Highly recommend SoCal K9 Consulting for any dog owner
